SENATOR CHUCK GRASSLEY – Would the FBI be concerned if it received evidence that foreign individuals had made improper or illegal financial payments to politicians or other political exposed people?
CHRISTOPHER WARRY (FBI DIRECTOR:) The conduct that you are describing would be something we will examine closely as part of our attempts to malign foreign influences.
Then, he concluded his report with a comment about “whistleblower allegations, which claim agents suppressed adverse information about Hunter Biden, without providing specifics. Wray condemned whistle-blower reprisal.”

Eastern, 6:02:07DAVID SPUNT – Just moments into the hearing, Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley pressed Wray about the federal investigation into President Barack Obama’s son. Hunter Biden is not being charged with a crime. But, the grand jury has been investigating his tax and international business transactions. Wray received a hypothetical from Grassley.
SENATOR CHUCK GRASSLEY – Would the FBI be concerned if it received evidence that foreign individuals had made improper or illegal financial payments to politicians or other political exposed people?
CHRISTOPHER WAY (FBI Director): We would typically look closely at the conduct that you describe as part of our effort to denigrate foreign influence.
SPUNT: Wray denounced whistle-blower reprisals on allegations that whistleblowers made about Hunter Biden’s actions. Wray also discussed what he called the greatest national security risk. According to Wray, the bureau conducts an average of 12 investigations into China per hour.
WRAY: It is a huge, serious problem and we, as a nation, are trying to play catch up.
