The evening news networks (NBC, CBS and CBS) ignored a story which did not fit their leftist agenda. Capitol Hill was rocked by outrage Tuesday when it became clear that the Biden Justice department had given Montez Lee (a Black Lives Matter protester) a shorter sentence than what is required under the sentencing guidelines.
Bret Baier, Fox News Channel’s News Channel host, was the only one who could tell this story. Report SpecialThis will be used to pay for the injustice.
Baier did more than just cover the story, he also led it in the top half of the 6:00 PM broadcast. “A Black Lives Matter activist who authorities say burned down a building during a protest and an act of arson that ended up killing a man. Senators are seeking answers to questions about the reason the arsonist got the sentence. It is much lower than the standard. Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton says that the Montez-Lee case is political.” he announced.
Baier then turned to congressional correspondent Aishah Hasnie for the full details. According to Hasnie, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had joined Senators Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley “in their outrage at President Biden’s Justice Department.” She also reported that “they say the DOJ is handing out politically soft sentences, pointing to the case of BLM protester Montez Lee Jr.”
Montez Lee is an author Minnesota man aged 26 broke into Minneapolis’ pawnshop, set fire to the shop and took part in a 2020 riot. The man was heard uttering, “We’re going to burn that explicative down.” Later, police found Oscar Stuart (aged 30), a father of five inside the scorched store.According to Hasnie. He could have been sentenced to up to 20 years, but the Biden Justice Department supported leniency.
It would be reasonable to think that someone with a lengthy criminal record, including “burglary theft, assault and violation of a no contact order”, would receive a ten year sentence with three years supervision from these networks. Particularly since Justice Department sentencing guidelines call for twenty years.
Capital One on ABC and Prevagen, on CBS, as well as Ensure, on NBC, made possible this appalling case of bias by omission. This link allows you to contact them about biased information they finance.

6:00:43PMBRET BAIER An activist for Black Lives Matter who, according to authorities, set fire to a building as part of a protest. He also committed an arson act that resulted in the death of a man. Senators demand answers as to why arsonist was sentenced. This is a much lower standard. Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton says that the Montez-Lee case is political. Aishah Hasnie, Congressional correspondent is here with this story. Aishah, Good Evening
AISHAH HASNIE: Good evening to you Bret, that’s right. We’ve heard from Senators Cotton and Hawley already about this and now we’re hearing from Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who has also taken issue with this particular case calling this reduced sentencing totally inappropriate.
SENATOR MICHAEL MCCONNELL (Reply): It’s very important that we emphasize prosecution that is appropriate for the crime.
HASNIE – Senators Josh Hawley, Josh Cotton and Mitch McConnell join the Senate Minority leader in condemning President Biden’s Justice Department. The DOJ gives politically soft sentences. They cite the Montez Lee Jr. case, which they claim is proof of this. The Minnesotan man, 26, broke into the Minneapolis Pawnshop and set it ablaze during the 2020 Riot. This man could be heard shouting that he was going to set this explanationative on fire. The body of Oscar Stuart (30 years old), a father of 5, was later discovered by police in that burned-out store.
Lee pleaded guilty to one federal arson charge but Stuart’s death was not brought up by Trump Justice Department. The Biden Justice Department suggested that he be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years imprisonment. Even though he has a history of theft, burglary and assault as well as violating no-contact orders, Mr. Lee’s writing doesn’t seem to present a threat to the public. Lee received a sentence of 10 years, with three years supervision.
MCCONNELL: The prosecutors there have recommended sentencing below the sentencing guideline for the crime that they’ve been charged with because of their sympathies for groups like BLM. That’s totally inappropriate.
HASNIE – Today McConnell wrote a letter to the nominee of Biden for Minnesota U.S. attorney. This is as Senator Cotton wrote to Attorney General Merrick Grland, asking for answers.
Senator Tom Cotton: The Department of Justice appears to be softening on arsonists, but they’re throwing the books at protesters who broke into Capitol buildings and did not commit violence crimes.
HASNIE : Bret, it seems that A.G. Garland was aware of Senator Cotton’s letter, but there has been no communication from either the DOJ or the U.S. attorney’s office in Minneapolis. Bret?
BAIER: Thank you, Aishah. We will continue to follow it.
