Nets Ignore Biden SCOTUS Nominee’s Record of Being Soft on Child Porn

On Wednesday, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) posted a lengthy Twitter thread with damming evidence of Biden Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record of being soft on child porn offenders. All three evening news broadcastsABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News & NBC Nightly News) ignored Hawley’s allegations. This comes in stark contrast to the way the networks treated the baseless allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation process in the fall of 2018.

While the networks ignored these troubling allegations, they were busy reporting on the St. Patrick’s Day parade, Food deserts, and the weather.

“I’ve been researching the record of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, reading her opinions, articles, interviews & speeches. I’ve noticed an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson’s treatment of sex offenders, especially those preying on children,” Hawley tweeted.

He claimed that “Judge Jackson has a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook for their appalling crimes, both as a judge and as a policymaker.”

Hawley stated that Jackson had been advocating for child predators being let off the hook ever since she was in law school. She also asked whether she would make a statement about the child predators. “convicts register as sex offenders – saying it leads to ‘stigmatization and ostracism.’ She’s suggested public policy is driven by a ‘climate of fear, hatred & revenge’ against sex offenders”

Hawley shared screenshots taken from Judge Jackson’s court brief. In it, she stated her belief that child porn users “are not only in this to collect, but also because they are lonely and want status within the community.’” To which Hawley rightfully asks “what community would that be? “The community of child exploitationrs?”

Hawley pointed out that Jackson served as a U.S. diplomat during Jackson’s tenure. Sentencing Commission she said she “‘mistakingly assumed that child pornography offenders are pedophiles’ and she wanted ‘to understand this category of nonpedophiles who obtain child pornography’.”

Hawley also alleged that while Jackson served on the D.C. District Court, she also ruled in decisions that gave pedophiles much lighter sentences than the guidelines require.

According to the Daily Caller, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki “pushed back against these claims, saying Jackson’s sentencing of sex crimes were ‘consistent’ with recommendations at a Thursday press briefing. She claimed Hawley ‘took a snippet of a transcript out of context’ when Jackson was repeating a witness’ remarks in order to ask a question about their testimony.”

However, it is clear that these allegations against Republican Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh would have been reported on by the evening news broadcasts. We know this because, in 2018, Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein (CA) alleged in a letter to the FBI that Brett Kavanaugh had attempted to assault a 17-year-old girl at a party almost forty years prior.

The evidence was scanty and there was not much information about the contents of the letter. NBC Nightly News It was still followed. Then when more details emerged showing the whole story was full of holes, including accounts from others who denied certain events even occurred, the networks were not at all intellectually curious about them.

This shocking example of bias through omission was possible because of TD Ameritrade (NBC), Fisher Investments (ABC) and Liberty Mutual (NBC). They are linked, so it is impossible to tell them what biased news they have funded.
