Hours before Tuesday’s broadcast of the evening newscasts aired, Fox News discovered that President Biden’s national security advisor Jake Sullivan was implicated by Special Counsel John Durham and his investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, because of his connections to the debunked Steele dossier and the people who fed the lies to the FBI.
There was plenty of time for the networks to do the leg work to confirm the story with their sources, but ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening NewsPlease see the following: NBC Nightly NewsThey chose to remain silent about the fact that the story they had been telling for the past four years was exploding in front of their eyes. It is supported by a NewsBusters studyThey are biased by their omission.
They spent 4:21 minutes hyping the Jan 6 Committee’s issuing additional subpoenas for associates of President Trump, instead of reporting about the deceitful web linking the Biden White House and the Clinton campaign.

Obviously, Fox News wasn’t going to hide its big scoop from their viewers, so Special ReportBret Baier, anchor, led the charge. “Breaking tonight, we are learning new information about the connection between the infamous dossier that justified the Russia collusion investigation into the Trump presidential campaign and one member of the current Biden administration,” he announced at the top of the show.
Adding, “All of this comes as the special prosecutor, John Durham’s pursuit of the facts continues to shine a light on the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. And, raising new questions about years of grandstanding by some lawmakers on this issue.” Correspondent David Spunt, of the reporters to break the story, delivered the report.
“Special counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe making its way into the Biden White House,” he reported. And according to Spunt’s sources, Sullivan was the “foreign policy advisor” alluded to in the indictment of Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, who is accused of intentionally feeding false information to the FBI in a coordinated campaign effort to get pressure off Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal.
Baier later spoke to Jonathon Turley, a George Washington University professor of law. He recalled how Sullivan made false allegations in the media and may have lied about it to Congress.
Sullivan made another major public statement in October that stated that Trump had been tied to Moscow through a secret server. This was obviously bogus, but Sullivan sounded it loud and clear.
When he was asked later by Congress sort of, ‘what’s going on here, I mean, did you know the basis of this? The source of this?’ He said “no.” He even denied knowing that Sussmann – the roles of Sussmann and Clinton general counsel Marc Elias in creating these allegations.
“We’ve no evidence that Sullivan is being investigated for a crime. But what we’re seeing now is this multilayer connection between the Clinton campaign and this scandal. And it seems very clear that Durham believes that this was basically a campaign effort to dupe the FBI and the FBI fell for it,” Turley added.

Eastern, 6:00:32BRET BAIER: Tonight’s breaking news reveals new details about the link between one Biden-appointed official and the dossier which justified Russia collusion in the Trump campaign. In the words of one lawmaker following the developments, it all seems to be, quote, “Unraveling.”
This all happens as John Durham, the special prosecutor continues his pursuit of facts to shed light on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. New questions are being raised about the grandstanding displayed by certain lawmakers over this topic for years. This is in addition to the biased media coverage on alleged Russia colusion.
David Spunt, Correspondent at the Justice Department is here with our latest Tonight and top Story. David, it’s a pleasure to meet you.
DAVID SPUNT : Bret, good evening. For months, there has been much speculation about the direction of this Durham probe. Tonight, however, new indicators suggest that this probe may be moving up the ranks to the Biden administration.

John Durham is the special counsel who investigated the source of the Trump Russia probe. This investigation reached the Biden White House. Fox News confirms that Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Advisor is the foreign policy advisor mentioned in Michael Sussmann’s indictment.
Sussmann, who was accused of lying to the FBI about his Clinton campaign work, received information via a Russian bank regarding alleged connections between Donald Trump’s and the Kremlin. It turned out that the information was false.
Indictment says that an additional campaign attorney sent emails to a foreign policy advisor. Sullivan regarding the Russian bank claims. There’s no evidence that Sullivan was a target during the Durham probe. Fox News reached out for comment to his office, but we have not heard back.
Durham started his investigation into Russia’s origins two years ago. However, Durham has been moving at a faster pace in recent months. Durham last week charged Igor Danchenko, a Russian national, with lying to FBI. Durham asserts Danchenko is a source for British spy Christopher Steele, and his notorious dossier.
ANDREW McCATHY, former federal prosecutor: Federal law does not apply to all political dirty tricks or abuses of power. Durham has concluded that Trump-Russia collusion was part of a Clinton campaign concoction.
SPUNT: The indictment mentions Danchenko’s communications with “PR Executive 1.” That executive is long-time Clinton adviser Charles “Chuck” Dolan. Dolan has not been charged with a crime but is a witness in the Danchenko case and his attorney tells Fox News “no comment.” Durham says Dolan was in contact with Danchenko who was in contact with Steele to produce damaging information about Donald Trump.

Bret. Tomorrow will see Igor Danchenko in federal court. His plead is not expected. He is expected to plead not guilty.
BAIER: David Spunt, we are grateful.

BAIER: One of them as we just reported in David Spunt’s report is this foreign policy adviser who’s cited in the indictment and we now know from sources that that is Jake Sullivan.
In the email, it writes, “on or about December 15th, 2016 Campaign Lawyer-one exchanged emails with the Clinton Campaign’s campaign manager, communication director, foreign policy adviser, concerning the Russian Bank-1 allegations that Sussmann had recently shared with the reporter.”
Sussmann has been indicted on charges of lying to FBI. It is not an accurate depiction.
JONATHAN TURLEY (right). Bret: It’s fascinating to see how these parts are coming together. And they’re forming a rather disturbing picture.
Remember that President Obama received a briefing from American intelligence on July 28th. They told him there were evidence suggesting that Hillary Clinton would use Russian collusion to distract attention away from the email scandal. The White House had a formal briefing. The Russian investigation began three days later. The Russian investigation was launched three days later. In September you will have the meeting with Sussmann and Jake Sullivan, who are both Clinton lawyers.
Sullivan made the big public statement in October that there was a covert server that tied Trump to Moscow. Although it was totally false and he shared it with the world, it is still widely reported.
When he was asked later by Congress sort of, ‘what’s going on here, I mean, did you know the basis of this? The source of this?’ He said “no.” He even denied knowing that Sussmann – the roles of Sussmann and Clinton general counsel Marc Elias in creating these allegations.
Now, keep in mind also, that Sussmann was indicted for denying the role – his connection to the Clinton campaign. Reporters accused Marc Elias, also accusing him of not denying that the Clinton campaign was involved in the creation and maintenance of the dossier. They admitted funding the dossier only after the election.

TURLEY: We’ve no evidence that Sullivan is being investigated for a crime. But what we’re seeing now is this multilayer connection between the Clinton campaign and this scandal. This is evident because Durham thinks that it was a campaign attempt to fool the FBI. And the FBI gave it a pass.
