Nets Hype FOURTH COVID Shot, Blame Case Spikes on Loosened Restrictions

The evening newscasts briefly returned to the previous obsession on Tuesday after spending several weeks covering the Russian invasion in Ukraine. They were hyping the COVID pandemic, pushing the endless mask mandates and vaccinations upon a public that wants to live a normal life.

You can find more information here NBC Nightly News, which had the most over-the-top coverage, they started with anchor Lester Holt reporting how Pfizer has asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “ to authorize a fourth COVID vaccine shot for older Americans.” He argued that there have been troubling signs overseas that “raise fears the U.S. may be headed for another spike.”

Miguel Almaguer (national correspondent) asked Taison bell, University of Virginia Department of Critical Care and Infectious Disease, whether Americans are being treated. “willing to get a second booster or a fourth shot?”

Bell snorted that “we’ve seen problems with people getting their first booster. I mean we only have 50 percent of eligible people boosted right now, that’s already a big problem.”

Almaguer also announced the appointment of Doctor Anthony Fauci “attributes three major factors behind England’s rise. Omicron Subvariant ba.2 has a higher transmissibility, but not necessarily more severe. Also, relaxed mandates such as no longer covering indoors can have an effect. As is waning immunity from vaccination or prior infection.”

On ABC’s World News Tonight, which also covered Pfizer’s recommendation that Americans get a fourth COVID shot, had national correspondent Stephaine Ramos interview Doctor Ashish Jha about what direction the COVID pandemic is expected to go.

Just like Fauci’s statement on NBC, Jha also blamed not social distancing or masking for the spike in COVID cases: “they have gotten rid of all mitigation measures, no masking, no distancing I think that creates some susceptibility in that context. Maybe a little bit of waning immunity, as well.”

Ramos lamented that Dr. Jha had worried at the conclusion of her report “so many Americans are still vulnerable. He says many more people need to get vaccinated or boosted.”

This is the interim. CBS Evening News, anchor Norah O’Donnell just briefly hyped the possibility of a fourth vaccine:

Today’s pandemic headlines are numerous. Just in: Pfizer has applied to FDA for approval for a COVID booster that would be beneficial for senior citizens. This would provide maximum protection to seniors aged 65 or older. The C.D.C is continuing to monitor new COVID cases and it has found that almost one-fourth of all new COVID infections in America are from the Omicron variant, known as ba.2.

Leftist media wants us to never return to normal. Americans could continue to mask, receive COVID booster shots, or social distancing if they wanted.

LESTER HOLT – Pfizer is asking FDA to approve a fourth dose of COVID for seniors. The alarming signs from overseas suggest that there may be another rise in the U.S. Miguel Almaguer.

MIGUEL ALMAGUER – Tonight’s NBC News reports that Pfizer submitted data to FDA to request emergency authorization. The FDA is looking to approve a second COVID booster for Americans aged 65 or older. This will be in response to waning immunity months later. A fourth shot, according to Pfizer’s CEO would greatly improve the protection against infection. Do Americans actually want to have a fourth booster shot or another?

DR. TAISON Bell (UNIVERSITY of Virginia CRITICAL CARE and INFECTIOUS DIISEASE PHYSICIAN),: We’ve had problems with people receiving their first booster. It’s difficult to believe that only 50% of people are eligible for boosters right now.

ALMAGUER. Pfizer is pushing as COVID case numbers spike around the globe. China’s cases are up by 377 percent The UK has seen an increase in infections of more than 52 percent. Dr. Fauci points out three factors responsible for England’s rapid rise. Omicron Subvariant ba.2 has a higher transmissibility, but not necessarily more severe. Also, relaxed mandates such as no indoor masking are having an effect. The same goes for waning immunity to prior infections or vaccinations. Tonight, the White House confirmed that Doug Emhoff (2nd Gentleman), has been positive for COVID. Today, the Vice President was negative. Lester?

DAVIDMUIR: Pfizer just before we were on air, is now asking for emergency authorization to use a booster. Tonight, Dr. Jha was asked about the possibility of another booster and what Israeli data shows.

STEPHANIE RAMOS – Overseas COVID is on the rise. China has its worst pandemic since it began. New lockdowns are being imposed on 51 million people. European countries are seeing a rise in COVIDs, partly due to Omicron, the sub-variant of ba.

DR. ASHISH JHA – In Europe we have seen an increase in the number of cases from almost all European countries. It is due to a couple factors. Ba.2, a sub-variant Omicron, is one of the factors. It’s now more prevalent in Europe. That’s causing a bit of an uptick. They have eliminated all mitigation measures. I don’t think they can mask or distancing. This creates susceptibility. There may be a slight waning of immunity. This combination may be the reason for the increase in European cases.

(…)

RAMOS:  David, Dr. Jha says what worries him the most is that so many Americans are still vulnerable. Dr. Jha says that more people should be vaccinated and/or boosted. He said, “We wish that this pandemic was over. But, we now have tools to help manage it more effectively.” David?
