Needless to say, the useful idiots of the liberal media are beside themselves in unscientific anguish over a federal judge on Monday vacating Joe Biden’s federal mask mandate in airports and other transportation hubs. Add to that the fact it was an a Trump-appointedJudge, the humor is unmatched.
NBC’s Lester Holt was among those in the so-called “mainstream” media most wrought over the news, melodramatically commiserating with a random NBC reporter about “small children” being put at risk by the judge’s decision. Holt grumbled while lying on his back, as NewsBusters transcribed.
With the country on track to soon reach 1 million COVID deaths in the next few weeks, this, a face mask, has remained the flashpoint of our (“ours,” as in liberal media sock puppets) anxieties and frustrations, and now tonight objects of mixed messages.
A federal judge set the rule’s demise in motion yesterday vacating the CDC mask mandate, calling it unlawful, but tonight many health experts point out that legal decision may not square with science and an upward tick in COVID cases around the country.
They warn that the new freedom to wear face masks on airplanes may pose a risk for children as well as those who have compromised immune systems.
In typical liberal elitist fashion, Holt suggested that much of the country is too stupid to responsibly exercise personal choice over whether or not to mask, and as a consequence, “small children” and the immuno-compromised could now be at risk.
The random correspondent (Tom Costello) jumped in to make sure viewers knew that the judge who vacated the mandate, Florida District Court Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, was appointed by evil Donald Trump (aka “the Devil incarnate”). Costello made a lame attempt to blame violence on commercial flights, in part, for Mizelle’s decision.
Two years ago, airlines started requiring masks, and fourteen months later, the White House mandated them. Now, the mask mandate has been canceled by a Trump appointed federal judge, who ruled that the CDC exceeded its authority when it required masks for public transport. Today’s travelers were split in their opinions about whether to continue masking, at airports and train stations as well as on airplanes.
Could this guy’s narrative-driven editorializing be any clearer?
Costello told Holt the Biden administration “may appeal if the CDC insists that the mask mandate is needed,” but wouldn’t attempt to “stay” or halt the decision. This is so prophetic.
As RedState reported on Tuesday night, after first deciding not to appeal Judge Mizelle’s ruling, the Biden administration a few hours later reversed course and announced that the DOJ and CDC It will appeal the ruling — after the CDC determined the mandate is still “necessary.”
As we’ve seen over the last 15 months more times than we can remember, Biden’s blatant hypocrisy and mixed messaging — driven solely by his radical-left agenda — is currently on full display on multiple levels, as evidenced by the following sequence:
In late February, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) eased the masking recommendations, saying “more than 70 percent of Americans should be able to remove their masks indoors, including inside schools.”
In late March, CDC made further adjustments to its recommendations and stated that only two percent of U.S. states remained subject to masking guidance.
Then Judge Mizelle stuck down Biden’s mask federal mandate, calling it unlawful and saying the CDC had exceeded its legal powers in issuing the mandate — and the DOJ and CDC will now appeal the ruling.
In other words, the Biden administration, through its actions, despite the CDC’s only earlier guidance and the ruling of a federal judge, is going to die on the masking hill because COVID is still very much a threat.
Only one question. It is a rhetorical question. We are certain why. Title 42 was adopted by Trump’s administration in response to the outbreak of Wuhan virus in March 2020. It is intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among illegal immigrants from countries where there are high levels of communicable disease.
As an aside, while I was writing the article, Bill Melugin from Fox News reported that border agents had already begun to ignore Title 42 when dealing with illegal aliens. Townhall’s Katie Pavlich then said border agents have been ignoring Title 42 requirements “for months” with illegals from Northern Triangle countries. “All of the above” runs contrary to the administration’s claims, including that it has been deporting single males from Mexico; yet video after video continues to show busloads of single males being released into the country on a regular basis.
Let’s get to the bottom of it:
In perhaps the understatement of the article, Joe Biden, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and the entire administration have been misleading America from the beginning about not only the seriousness of the Biden Border Crisis™ but about why they created it — and continue to maintain —in the first place.
