The NBA was buzzing Tuesday, but the most important sports news was from the NFL. Deshaun Watson may be facing an indefinite suspension.

Detroit Pistons exchanged two potential second-round draft picks and cash incentives for the New York Knicks in exchange for center Nerlens Norel, guard Alec Burks (a 2023 second round pick), a 2020 second-round selection, six million dollars, and Alec Burks. Adrian Wojnarowski claims that the Pistons intend to use Noel, Burks and the Knicks had enough cap space to sign Jalen Brunson.
Detroit wants to use center Nerlens Norel and guard Alec Burks for next season. Troy Weaver was proud to have Noel as part of his Oklahoma City team. Burks, a veteran coach and mentor to the Pistons young guards, is a perfect fit.

They are interested in Gary Payton, II as the Dallas Mavericks prepare to give up Jalen Brunson to free agency with the New York Knicks. Warriors reporter Anthony Slater states that the Mavs are “considered among the most serious suitors” for Golden State Warriors guard Payton II. Brunson would be his replacement offensively, but Doncic could benefit from his defensive skills.
The Clippers have signed Ivica Zubac, center, to a $33 million, three-year extension. To be in the playoffs next season, Clippers must remain healthy. Ivica Zubac is an integral part of that run. Zubac had 10.3 points last season on average with 62.6 percent shooting and 8.5 rebounds. Zubac also made one block each game.
New York Knicks will offer Jalen Bunson, a guard for free, a four year deal valued at $110million. Free agency starts June 30th. As the Knicks are in search of a point guard to start, this was widely anticipated. Brunson wants to dictate the offense more often, and with Luka Doncic running the show in Dallas, Brunson’s game was limited.
The Knicks have cleared $30M in salary cap space to offer Dallas’ Jalen Brunson in the neighborhood of a max contract. The unloading of assets and contracts clearly shows the Knicks’ confidence that they can secure Brunson once free agency opens on Thursday.
