SJoe Scarborough is a strong hombre! This Thursday, Morning Joe, Ragin’ Bull Scarborough twice fantasy-bragged about what he would do if he saw someone taking photos of security areas in the Capitol, claiming he’d threaten them with feeding them the camera.
Joe’s flight of macho fantasy came in the context of a discussion of a Capitol tour Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia had given the day before the January 6 riot. A video later showed a member on the tour snapping pictures of the event. Scarborough stated that it was an image of metal detectors and security areas. Kevin Tober, NewsBusters Analyst has observed that it isn’t true. Capitol Police examined video footage of the tour, and found no suspicious evidence.
But that didn’t stop Scarborough from bragging about his violent fantasy:
If I give a tour any day of year and someone stops and takes a photo of metal detectors or entries, what would you do? You’d hear me say “hey Inspector Clouseau!” You can put the camera down, or I will force you to eat it.“
Scarborough made a second show of his masculinity, saying a little later:
“I’d slap him on the hand with my camera. If I were a Member of Congress, and a guy’s doing this, I’d say, what are you doing? Stop. And I’d slap.”
Yes, living on the hardscrabble streets of Jupiter, Florida—home to Tiger Woods, Celine Dion and Michael Jordan, among other celebrities—and summering in the Hamptons/Nantucket, a tough dude like Joe knows how to take care of himself—and rough up anyone he decides deserves it!
On Morning Joe, muy macho Joe Scarborough claiming that if he saw anyone taking pictures of security areas in the Capitol, he would say “put the camera down or I’ll make you eat it,” was sponsored in part by Walmart, GlaxoSmithKline, maker of Nucala, Clear Choice, and DirecTV.
Here’s the transcript.

6:04 am EDTJOE SCARBOROUGH: This Loudermilk thing? This guy, was like, you know, he said, oh, no, we didn’t give tour, nothing wrong with any tours, other than it ends up, he’s got a guy that’s telling all the Democrats on January 6th he’s coming to get ’em. And the day before, he’s taking pictures of security spots.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: No.
SCARBOROUGH: And, and people said, oh, well, you can’t prove anything. I said, look: I’ve given a few of these tours.
If I’m giving a tour on any day of the year, and a guy’s stopping and taking a picture of, like, metal detectors, taking a picture of entries, you know? I‘d stop and say, hey, hey, hey Inspector Clouseau! Put the camera down or I’m gonna make you eat it. Now let’s go upstairs and look at the statue of Will Rogers. Rub his foot, brings you good luck. Put it down. Any Member of Congress would do that.
. . .
WILLIE GEIST: So who is that guy? Well, the video goes on to show surveillance footage of Congressman Loudermilk giving his tour. Some of the people there can be seen taking photos of staircases, tunnels, security check-points, used every day by lawmakers and their staff members.
SCARBOROUGH: Look at it! Look at it! I would slap the camera out of his hand.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: That’s unbelievable.
SCARBOROUGH:Imagine if I were a Member in Congress and this is what I’d do.What are you doing, I would say? Stop. And You’d slap.Don’t be afraid. It’s obvious. He had to know what was happening.
