Mother of Slain Marine Eviscerates Joe Biden for Ignoring Her Son’s Death – Opinion

One of the dumber developments from President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address was the consternation over Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) heckling him. When the president mentioned “flag-draped coffins” while not actually talking about soldiers killed in action, Boebert shouted out “13 of them,” speaking of the 13 service members who perished during Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

However, the true story is not about one congresswoman violating decorum rules for just a second. The main issue was not that Biden didn’t honor the service members who had died because of America’s incompetence with Afghanistan. Instead, Biden spent several minutes rehashing the same story about “burn pits” in Iraq he’s told multiple times, again trying to tie that to his son developing cancer years later.

The president wants to make a triumphal lap for 9/11, but what about the suicide bombers who killed innocent people? They weren’t worth a mention, and the mother of one of those who perished has spoken out.

Yeah, I’d say she’s upset, and she has every right to be. Instead of talking about burn pits and misleading Americans about his son’s death again, as tragic as it was, Biden had every opportunity to honor the sacrifice of those he sent to die. The president, being the stubborn, senile old man that he is, refused to listen to his generals and rushed a pull-out from Afghanistan that wasn’t ready to happen, leaving American service members exposed and vulnerable. He was selfish and negligent, so 13 of his aides paid the ultimate price.

Given what those families are going through, he couldn’t even carve out a single minute from his terribly written State of the Union speech to mention their names and offer his support? In fact, he didn’t even mention Afghanistan at all. Here’s an example of political cowardice.

Biden has often been labeled the “empathizer in chief” by the media, but that’s always been a ludicrous description of the president. Feeling pain over the death of one’s own family member, as understandable as that is, does not make someone broadly empathetic, and Biden has shown time and again that he simply doesn’t care about the suffering of others. That’s especially true when that suffering conflicts with one of his political goals. He’s a rabid partisan who will go to his grave worrying more about his own legacy than doing what’s right.

Shana Chall and other Gold Star Families members whose loved one died in August 2001 in Afghanistan, deserve better. They should be treated with compassion and not avoid the consequences of their actions. They are instead stuck with Joe Biden. It is now clearer than ever how inept he is to hold the office.
