A few weeks ago I wrote about Illinois’ new law, which eliminates parental notification to allow minors to have an abortion. I noted at the time how the Governor took the opportunity to crow about the expansion of “women’s rights” — (a worthy trade-off to destroying the rights of parents – and of the unborn, to his way of thinking it seems).
Pritzker now sees the potential overturning Roe v. Wade’s ruling as an opportunity for Illinois. While some state and city officials believe “reversing the landmark decision would help Illinois attract businesses eager to recruit young workers with socially progressive views,” the Governor seems particularly enthused about the prospect, noting, “This is another arrow in our quiver…We are always talking to companies about coming to Illinois, but this is another powerful point of discussion.”
That’s right – expanded abortion availability is now being spun by left-leaning politicians as a strong selling point for business recruitment. Perhaps they are looking for something to counter the rising crime, corruption and pension crisis.
I can hear the new ad campaign now: Chicago — Come for the abortions, stay for the crime!
