Even though we’re still three months out from the midterms, speculation about the 2024 presidential race has already begun in earnest. Setting aside the “Will he or won’t he?” swirling around President Trump’s intentions, there’s plenty of talk about what things will look like for the Democrats – rather unusual as the current president is only a year-and-a-half into his first term. His age and low approval ratings are affecting his ability to complete his first term. Joe Biden’s chances of winning a second term is diminishing every day.
Kamala Harris is a terrible candidate, and shows little ability for her role. The question now is who will take over for the Dems.
I think we have a fairly good idea based on whose mug has been all over the news of late: That’s right — Gavin Newsom (everyone’s favorite generously hair-gelled, almost-recalled governor of a collapsing state) is trekking to DC to measure the White House drapes and picking slap fights with successful red state governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott.
My conservative California friends are trying to sound the alarm, but clearly, the groundwork is being laid, folks, so brace yourself…for The Gavining.
