Lib Journalist Says Patriotic Actress Is Totally ‘Racist’ Because She’s White and Likes Guns

A liberal journalist was severely triggered on Monday by the unabashed patriotism of conservative commentator and actress Mindy Robinson.

Walker Bragman, a journalist with bylines in The Intercept, Salon and HuffPost, suggested that Robinson’s Twitter banner photo contained tell-tale indications of racist sympathies.

“Where would anyone get the idea that you’re a racist?!” Bragman tweeted. “It’s not like your banner photo is you, a white lady, in a red top, holding a machine gun, with the words ‘Red, White, and F You,’ all set against a backdrop that looks like a Confederate flag fading into an American one…”

Bragman’s remarks came in response to a tweet from Robinson, in which she criticized the backlash to President Donald Trump’s recent comments about civil rights activist and MSNBC host Al Sharpton.

“Al is a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score. Just doing his thing. Must have intimidated Comcast/NBC. Hates Whites & Cops!” Trump tweeted on Monday.

Sharpton on Monday said the president was racist for tweeting over the weekend that the city of Baltimore was a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”

Mindy Robinson responds

Robinson eventually fired back at Bragman, warning the progressive journalist that “equating being patriotic” with “being ‘racist'” was the kind of strategy that could only lead to Trump’s re-election.

The majority of commenters replying to Bragman’s tweet concurred.

“Got it Being blond and white makes her a racist Good take there,” wrote one Twitter in a tongue-in-cheek tweet.

“Uh oh, someone was bullied by the pretty blonde in high school 🙁 poor little guy,” quipped another.

However, Bragman did find a defender in the official Twitter account for the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the arts.

“Mindy, put some clothes on and pipe down,” the organization tweeted.

Users pointed out that the sentiments espoused by the group, which was founded by liberal actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria, didn’t exactly square with modern progressive thought.

“And just when I didn’t think this thread could get any weirder, a Baldwin bro pipes in with some good ol’ American misogyny. #WhatATimeToBeAlive,” tweeted one user.
