While the media and the government try to inundate America with fear of the not-so-dangerous Omicron variant of coronavirus, at least two major sports figures are not buying into the Left’s fear-mongering.
Phil Mickelson is a professional golfer and one of few class acts left in professional sports. He posted a tweet asking for information on the virus respectfully, while also highlighting the absurdity of fear around the Omicron variant.
Serious question since I’m not a dr. Omicron can be contagious, but it is not fatal (25,000 people in Africa have died). So why do we try to control it? It is better to let the virus go than try and control it. Let people have it, develop immunity. Especially for those who won’t get vaccinated? Pls no hate, I’m just curious.

Mickelson naturally received a lot of flack for having a level of common sense, but he’s onto something. Why is it that this disease has similar symptoms to the common cold, and has a lower death rate than COVID-19?
Mickelson has a right to say that even though the risk of contracting the disease is low, our bodies can adapt naturally and we will be fine. This approach is not financially feasible or controlled, so Mickelson will probably be dismissed.
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has posted a meme about the similarity between the COVID virus, the common cold and the flu.
James’s post was greeted with joy by many conservative media figures:
It worked. Lebron and me finally came to an agreement. pic.twitter.com/t0pb9sM29F

James is not in touch with the reality of most of his cultural or political views (influencing millions) but it should be obvious that he does not act like a jerk when speaking them. His thoughts had been trending in the right directions for a while.
There have been many deaths from COVID in the last two years. This is an unfortunate and sad fact. The reality is that most people don’t experience any serious side effects from COVID and symptoms can be mild. Shutting down our businesses, sports leagues, and our entire country – all while living in fear – will accomplish no good.
Mickelson, Lebron win it. Now the question is: When will all of us get it?
