Mask Story About Sotomayor and Gorsuch Was Utter Bunk From the Liberal Media – Opinion

We wrote earlier about a supposed controversy between Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Neil Gorsuch that was reported by NPR.

Allugally, Justice Sotomayor asked Justice Gorsuch to wear a mask since she didn’t feel safe from COVID because she has diabetes. Chief Justice John Roberts then asked everyone if they would mask up, but Gorsuch refused to wear a mask and Sotomayor was boycotting appearing on the bench in person because of Gorsuch’s refusal.

But according to a new report tonight from Fox, this just wasn’t true, according to their source.

Not only didn’t Roberts ever ask the justices to mask up, but Sotomayor also didn’t ask Gorsuch to wear a mask — so Gorsuch never refused a request from her or Roberts to wear one.

So the “controversy” pushed by NPR was just so much bunk. Just one more example of why you can’t trust media. Finally, they might push fake looks like this.

All the justices are vaccinated, boosted, and are tested, and up to a couple of weeks ago, eight of the justices didn’t wear masks, as Mike Davis notes. Davis, the ex-Chief Counsel for Nominations at the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary and former Justice Gorsuch law clerk, has some information.

So it seems that this NPR report was a hoax. We have three theories. Gorsuch/justices of the right are made to look terrible and Sotomayor is the victim. Totenberg also tried to promote the idea that the conservative wing was “divided.” Again, the Court doesn’t leak such things so this sounds like more bunk. That isn’t the way they operate.

But the mask story was pushed everywhere and likely won’t be corrected, adding yet one more thing to the mountain of falsehood the liberal media has built.
