‘Mask Mandates Didn’t Make Much of a Difference Anyway’ – Opinion

It looks like there’s a bit more to that COVID dam breaking.

We reported previously that the Johns Hopkins mega-study found that while lockdowns have no effect on COVID mortality rates, they can have devastating consequences for people.

It is not uncommon for Democratic governors to drop their mandates on schools.

Now, the latest from the Washington Post has finally concluded: “Mask Mandates Didn’t Make Much of a Difference,” their title from a new story blares.

In order to keep germs from entering the atmosphere, it is obvious that there should be a barrier. But if that’s true, why isn’t there more evidence for the benefits of masking two years into the pandemic? Experts associated with The Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota have laid out a more complex analysis: Given the current understanding that the virus is transmitted in fine aerosol particles, it’s likely an infectious dose could easily get through and around loose-fitting cloth or surgical masks.

What do you think? But this isn’t new information. According to our April 20, 2021 report, Michael Osterholm (Biden coronavirus advisor) spoke of ineffectiveness in most of the cloth-based masks people used in relation to the virus. Is this why they are only now stating it? The majority of people are familiar with cloth masks. And then, add to that that many aren’t wearing them right, are constantly touching them; the masks are also retaining moisture, and that increases the issues.

All those factors may explain why the states with mask mandates haven’t fared significantly better than the 35 states that didn’t impose them during the omicron wave. Although Rhode Island (where I reside) has had a mandate for masks since December, the January surge we experienced was far greater than in any other state. There’s little evidence that mask mandates are the primary reason the pandemic waves eventually fall — though much of the outrage over lifting mandates is based on that assumption.

But, how was COVID considered in calculating the potential harm to those children? That’s perhaps been the most harmful thing about the mask mandates — how the affect on children seems to not even have been considered or cared about by governments in imposing such strictures.

After being told the mask regulations were to be removed, we were able to see how content the Las Vegas schoolchildren were.

You can see how difficult it was for them when they are happy.

Increased numbers of students in schools have started to protest against the use and abuse of masks by leading school walkouts.

Watch as a father speaks about his child. It’s hard to feel for him and not to cry. It’s what all this has done to us.

Please note the Mask Advisory at the End of the Video.

Some things are irreplaceable.
