Liberals Jousting at Anti-Abortion Catholic Windmills – Opinion

In the never-ending saga of liberals looking to blame someone or something for a Supreme Court that, unlike they, has actually read the Constitution, the “We should ignore it because the Founding Fathers were POOPYHEADS” tack has taken on tremendous girth. It’s almost like the many anti-abortion screeching Harpies currently indenting the pavement. But I digress.

The latest variant on this theme comes amplified by MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.

This site has a lot to offer.

The first is that of the belief that Founding Fathers might have been revolted by the thought of having a Catholic among them. Hayes respondent says that it is not so. detailed:

Daniel Carroll II, the Rep from MD-6, signed the Articles of Confederation as well as the Constitution. He was the younger brother of Archbishop John Carroll.

Dan’s cousin, Charles Carroll was the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Charles Carroll was the also author of the First Citizen Letters, advocating independence. Charles was also Maryland’s envoy to Quebec during the war and a senior member of MD’s gov.

As the country’s senior Catholic clergyman at the time, the Archbishop was part of the effort to persuade Quebec to become a member of the American Revolution.

Oh my goodness, those facts!

This is followed by the apparent anti-Catholic bias. “We’d still be free to murder unborn children whenever, wherever, and for whatever reason, if it wasn’t for those meddling Catholics!” Sounds rather like the closing dialog of Scooby-Doo, The Vatican MysteryDan Brown wrote it.

Sarcasm aside Dobbs Decision leaked that there were vandalism attacks against Catholic churches and other facilities. Those who are the first to condemn perceived hate among adherents to a faith, the dictates of which include belief in life’s sanctity and God’s foreknowledge of all humans individually, including those not yet born or even conceived, are the first to practice naked hatred of believers. They do not believe in what they oppose.

They are those who shout the most loudest, and they also hear the sound of their own voices. Dobbs It did not ban abortion. This Court decision corrects a badly misguided Court precedent that inferred that abortion is a matter at the federal level and not at the state-level. All women who want to have an abortion, regardless of reason, are welcome in liberal states. Granted, you can’t afford to live in any metropolitan area of said states. They are borderline inhospitable due to crime, homelessness and drug abuse, even though you have the means. It’s easier to blame Catholics or Republicans, #OrangeManBad and even the liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsberg if they don’t retire early enough. But, it is much more difficult to acknowledge that their liberal state, county and municipal governments are also responsible for making life miserable.

This is liberal modernity. This is the modern liberal way. It seeks out a blame-shifter, giving up all responsibility. Let them be Don Quixote if blaming Catholics who follow the law is their latest windmill. However, there are two important differences. Given his admittedly fictional time and place, Don Quixote is undoubtedly Catholic. Second, his madness was amusing at best. Liberals can’t even meme.
