Left-Wing Group Announces an Insurrection at the Supreme Court – Opinion

It is a shame that I have to share this information on Saturday. However, an organization of left-wingers has threatened to insurrect the Supreme Court Monday.

No, I’m not being facetious, nor am I stretching the definition of the term. Rather, I’m reporting this based on the standard laid out regarding January 6th, which is that an insurrection occurs when protesters take action to stop the constitutional process of government from occurring.

Sure enough, that’s exactly what “Shut Down DC” is planning to do. They aren’t mincing words either. They are determined to block the Supreme Court from issuing opinions and shut it down. In this case, their primary concern is the Dobbs decision, which is going to overrule Roe V. Wade–unless all the recent threats have caused one of the justices to change their mind.

The activist group “Shut Down DC” plans to “blockade the streets around the Supreme Court” on Monday, according to its website, as part of a protest that aims to “shut down” the Supreme Court as it prepares to hand down a ruling that could overturn Roe v. Wade.

Protests are planned amid growing fears for the safety and security of Supreme Court justices. The protest follows the mid-night Wednesday arrest outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house of an armied man, who is alleged to have threatened the death of the justice.

Hey, look, I didn’t make the rules. According to the Democrat standard of insurrection, this is an insurrection. It has taken direct actions to block the functioning of the government, thereby halting the constitutional process. Furthermore, it does not make sense for such a standard to only apply to elections certification. Shutting down Congress would be an act of insurrection.

Will they be successful? Probably not, given that the justices won’t even be there again until Friday. Further, I’d assume any decisions can be released remotely if that’s what it takes. This is still a clear intent, so it would seem hypocritical of the left not to condemn this. Of course, they aren’t denouncing it because they are…hypocrites, but I digress.

This is an interesting time for me, as the court will release additional decisions on Monday. That doesn’t appear to be random, considering they could have done this the last several days that decisions were released. They waited until Monday to release this decision, or were they aware that Dobbs would drop. I certainly hope the Supreme Court didn’t suffer another major leak like that. I guess we’ll find out. Enjoy the media and left twisting into knots as they explain why surrounding Supreme Court to close it down is acceptable and not an insurrection.
