Leader of the Canadian Trucker Protest Finally Gets a Bail Hearing Five Days After Being Arrested – Opinion

Canada’s glorious nation and its people have had a rough week.

Hell, it has been pretty tough for those of us watching the Trudeau government’s debacle of how NOT to handle peaceful protests here in the states and across the world. But, they’ll get it through the winters in the Great White North.

If you are a regular reader of us here at RedState (and why wouldn’t you be?) You may have noticed that RedState has been reporting on the Canadian story because there could be implications. Government overreach is not just for books written by Geroge Orwell or silly political dramas like The West Wing — it happens in real life.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau doing right now in Canada with his Emergency Powers. This is something boneheads from the USA would LIVE to experience and are eager to watch how the laid-back Canadians do it.

You can see a lot more of what happened in Ottawa over the weekend. They’ve cleared most of the protests. They were all charged and some of them arrested. Others appear to have been held and released with the threat not to return.

But in its place, they have imposed fences blocking off a variety of areas and imposing at least 100 checkpoints and they want you to know that if you “simply” comply with the government edicts, all will be well. Oh, and you’ll have to submit to grilling as to why you might want to walk down the street.

Weren’t they supposed to be clearing blockades? I’m so confused! This is even after the protest was cleared out. So if anyone was disturbed about trucks, now they can have police “simply” grilling them as to what they are doing just because they want to walk down the street. Oh, and by the way, the elites, they can get through, just you peons can’t.

Fascism is not good for Canada.

Part of Trudeau’s new government powers is that the Canadian authorities can freeze your bank accounts — which is problematic when you are sitting in jail for five days and want to be bailed out. Since Thursday, February 17th, one of the protest leaders has been waiting in her cell, awaiting her chance to be released from jail. Today is her chance.

An Ontario Court of Justice judge will make a decision on whether bail should be granted to the second main organizer of Freedom Convoy.

Tamara Lich was the Alberta woman who started a GoFundMe campaign to raise over $10M to support the Ottawa protest. She was then arrested Thursday and charged with counseling to commit mischief.

Chris Barber (another key figure) was arrested the next day by police. His bail was set at Friday.

Before her arrest, Lich told journalists she wasn’t concerned about being arrested, didn’t think the protest was illegal and also said her bank account was frozen

At her bail hearing Saturday, Lich wore a black hoodie with white text that combined a heart and maple leaf to read “I love Canadian oil and gas.”

Additionally, she was required to use a medical mask to comply with the convoy’s mandates. She also had to receive COVID-19 vaccinations in order to take part in activities such as cross-border trucking.

Canadian laws differ from those in the United States, which is a blessing. Trudeau and others have been lurking in government halls for centuries, and the Founding Fathers knew this and put controls in place to combat their presence.

I can’t help but think that Guidance for those who commit misconductThis is similar to telling someone to grab your finger to get the expected result.

Tamara, along with her team, helped to organize one of the biggest and most peaceful demonstrations in history. This is why Tamara is being kept on. It is absurd to claim that Ottawans were inconveniencing. Your city is a nuisance to the rest of Canada every day. I’m sorry that the sounds of trucks, horns, and music got in the way of you getting your Tim Hortons coffee and made you feel threatened.

What is actually happening is that the Prime Minister Black Face, Hair Gel really isn’t happy about being challenged. I ran across a meme the other day with his face on it that said: “I’m going to save each and every one of you even if I have to kill you,” which sums it up perfectly. Trudeau is convinced that only he has the best interest for Canadian citizens. You must be crushed with all the weight of the federal government if that’s challenged.

A woman was speaking with reporters outside on Thursday night when she was stopped by to make comments. The reason the woman was held in custody for 5 days is because she had opposing views. This is not the first time that hundreds have been detained and their bank accounts confiscated. Trudeau, like many others, would have a hard time accepting third-world things for their camera and public appearances.

Tamara Lich should be freed today. I hope she continues to stand up for justice. Canada requires more people like Tamara Lich, who are more sensible than Prime Minster Thin Skin.

Canada is a country that deserves better.
