As we have seen, polls can be altered to produce the desired result.
This stage has become almost a routine for us to accept President Biden’s coddling. There are excuses, there are deflections from GOP reactions, and the White House talks points are almost verbatim. That was why when the stark inflation figures were released this week to reflect 40-year highs, it was barely a head-turner to see so many news outlets declaring this to be Vladimir Putin’s price increase.
It is a blatant contradiction that never goes acknowledged; on the campaign trail, Biden boldly stated that the buck would stop with him, but the press has been extremely busy passing that dollar to any other targets as responsible for Biden’s political calamities. It is so common that it deserves a parody.
Conservative media try to hold Biden responsible, and he is dragging up this quote.
Why they fail is that between the pandemic, states opening up, supply chain challenges, bad weather, corporate greed and Putin’s invasion the buck has not reached him yet. pic.twitter.com/GBXADOykQN— Bullwork Online! 🇧🇸The Bulwark Commentary Site @TheBullwork April 13, 2022
The latest instance of press putting up shields is ABC News releases a new pollRespondents were asked to give their opinions on various national issues. But it’s curious the way this approval poll came up with results. This presentation appears to be interpretational. The headline basically explains it.
A majority of Americans agree that Vladimir Putin, oil companies, are responsible for the recent rise in gas prices. @ABC News/Ipsos poll finds. https://t.co/fE9MAz9Lzh

Next, there’s the subheader. Americans will be more inclined to attribute the increase to Democrats than Republicans. If you have a sense of confusion with these claims, that is understandable – and it is most likely by design. Here are a few topics that have the anticipated Approve/Disapprove. Which do you think? Here’s the result:
- APPROVE – 31%
- DISAPPROVE – 68%
- SKIPPED – 1%
However, the fourth section will be covered. People were specifically asked to rate gas pricesThey were able to share their opinions on the various influences they attributed. It was different because there wasn’t a set of causes that they could pick from and it was also not possible to rank them. The respondents chose Great Deal/Good Amount/Not Many/Not At all. You could use any of these answers on any of the choices if you choose.
Many influences can be attributed to blame, resulting in random and overlapping results. First, Biden is a possibility. Despite the fact we saw answers saying more than two-thirds disapproval of his handling on gas prices, this section shows that the opposition to him has softened. He was blaming at 51%.. This is almost the exact same question that was asked at the beginning of the poll, but it’s now a two-digit increase.
Nevertheless, when they have other options to choose from, take a look at the number of choices that were more than half the answer.
- Blame gas prices on Oil Companies – 68%
- Blame gas prices on Democrat Policies – 52%
- Blame gas prices on Vlad Putin – 71%
For news media outlets reporting on this poll, it is now possible to pick from a variety of options. Do you want to blame Putin? Here you are. Do you want to make the oil companies look bad? Let’s get the number. You are looking for an alternative way to delegate responsibility from Biden. You could then point out that 17 percent of Americans are more likely to blame Big Oil than President Obama. Even better, combine your results! “57% blame Trump and his GOP for the high prices of gas.!”
This is not surprising, considering how polls can easily be altered to produce a desired result. In this case, however, the value in this poll is how shows us exactly to what level the media will descend in order to protect Biden’s image. This poll is meaningless because it was not designed properly. The negative numbers are therefore unreliable.
There you go, the results have been so flawed that it is unlikely we will be able to report on the poor approval numbers. Bravo, ABC News.
