Popular comedian Dave Chappelle has made it clear that he does not give a royal rip what “woke” mobs have to say about him and his recent “controversial” special on Netflix where he said some uncomfortable truths in rather raw terms about the debate over transgender rights and the left’s obsession with shoving gender identity politics down our throats, including in public school classrooms.
But while Chappelle refuses to bend the knee to wokesters, one of the activists at the center of the effort to cancel him is learning the hard way that karma is a b*tch this week. Old tweets from “progressive” transgender activist “Ashlee Marie Preston” in which he (she?) Some pretty extreme hateful comments against Asian Americans have been made public. This raises questions about whether the transgender activist Ashlee Marie Preston is actually committed to living up to his/her beliefs and demanding the same for others.
Preston used hateful language 10 years ago to describe Asian Americans. The Post Millennial also documented a number of instances in which Preston made derogatory remarks to Latinos. There was also a lot of misogyny and homophobia. There are many tweets displayed, and I was able to grab a screengrab below of some of them for illustration purposes. (Language warning).

One user also called Preston out on Instagram for using a video that Preston had taken to help support fauxtraged Netflix workers. She used the clip to show Preston declaring her support for minority communities and juxtaposed them with her racist tweets. Please be aware of the following:

In 2019, Preston was also called out for the tweets after being touted as a surrogate for Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign which, like the effort to cancel Chappelle, went nowhere. At the time, she apologized and said that the tweets were caused by drug abuse.
Preston offered this response to news reports about the tweets being resurfacing. Here is my commentary:
It’ll take more than tweets from nearly a decade ago, that y’all already weaponized against me 2 years ago, to stop me from doing the work that’ll free us ALL, today. This is so old and I’ve already taken accountability for it. There’s no scandal here. Check out my IG to see the entire video. pic.twitter.com/hit6pKem4V

Before Preston starts yada Yadas about her supposedly great social justice credentials, there are some good points made about being accountable, apologizing for mistakes and learning lessons, as well as growing up. I mean these are 10-year old tweets, and a lot of time has passed since then, time that can give a person a change of heart and a different perspective – something with which many of us can identify.
However, Preston believes that all of the things that Chappelle is trying to stir up are not real. Nor, does Preston, I suspect – the reason being that old habits from the radical left really do die hard. Have you ever heard that it is possible to take the radical out a leftist, but not the leftist or the radical out a liberal? Ok, so maybe I’m wrong, but you can get the idea.
Preston would be able to bring about a positive change if he/she resigned from the Chappelle campaign and encouraged the other sycophants to adopt a new approach, such as calling for a rational dialogue. But Preston won’t because it’s much more profitable in a social media sense (generating a lot more attention, Twitter RTs, and “love” taps on Facebook and Instagram, etc.) It’s easier to follow the Preston path than to do constructive things.
That said, it probably wouldn’t matter if Preston did so anyway because as noted earlier Chappelle really has no f**** left to give to his critics, nor should he. Plus, we now know who the real hateful person is in this discussion – and it’s not Chappelle, but Preston. There is a good chance that if the two of them met face-to-face, Chappelle would also have known and responded accordingly.
