Gallagher began: “The New York Times comes out and says, hey, it’s legit after all. Facebook said it was doing a fact check. Never did it. Never happened on Twitter. This is why you don’t believe anyone ever has apologised for what happened. Juan, they were incorrect across all media and no one has ever said “You know what? We screwed up that, it wasn’t Russian disinformation.”
WILLIAMS (No, I don’t think so, but there is a bigger context. What was it about? Is it a proof? No one said that it was false. This was the truth. And you then had some publications that claimed, “We have authenticated this.”
GALLAGHER : Analysts said that it was not true. Analysts and intel analysts claimed they couldn’t, or didn’t know how to prove that it was true. It sure looked like Russian disinformation.
WILLIAMS: Right, It was not the main point of organizations.
It couldn’t be authenticated? This seems a very strange standard for liberals, their Big Tech colleagues and Brett Kavanaugh’s accusers who made unsubstantiated claims regarding teenage rape in 2019 without any support. The main accuser was lionized.
Howard Kurtz responded with a counter-rebuttal.
KURTZ – Juan, I find it embarrassing that media have downplayed, ignored, ridiculed or minimized the story. The New York Times now says is under active federal investigation for possible tax violations or lobbying violations by the president’s son. It’s still not covered by them. The story was not covered by the other networks.
You know what? It doesn’t necessarily mean Hunter Biden will be charged. His father may be affected by the political fallout. If you think about the Facebook example of Twitter saying, “Well, you cannot even share this information then,” you will see that it was not true. New York Post.“
WILLIAMS: But Howie — Howie, This was during a heated campaign to harm one candidate after Russian disinformation. It seems that we all were properly prudent.
KURTZ – It was censorship.
The liberals were not “properly prudent” regarding many Trump scandals and Kavanaugh. The claim that Hunter Biden was required to be censored due to its lateness in the Presidential campaign, which is based upon an unproven Russian disinformation claim, is particularly ridiculous. Is there a month-long news vacation? In nearly every modern presidential news cycle, liberals have hatched an “October Surprise” of anti-Republican attacks. These attacks were not censored.
