Jon Voight Puts ‘Hollywood Elites’ to Shame With Viral Gesture to Gold Star Families

Jon Voight was caught on video wiping down rain-soaked chairs for Gold Star families at President Donald Trump’s July Fourth “Salute to America” celebration.

Ahead of Trump’s address, Voight was seen carefully preparing the seats of relatives of U.S. military members who died in battle, apparently unaware that he was being filmed. Trump campaign strategist Mike Hahn shared the video to Twitter on Monday, and it quickly went viral.

“While Hollywood Elites protested President @realDonaldTrump’s ‘Salute to America’ on July 4th,” Hahn said. “This is what it’s all about!”

Hahn was referring to objections to the Independence Day event on the Washington Mall by liberals and leading Democrats, who deemed it a wasteful display of military might befitting a tyrant.

Voight has long been one of the few pro-Trump voices in Hollywood. The Academy Award-winning actor was an early supporter of Trump’s candidacy, and has since reiterated his support of the president in interviews and on social media.

On Tuesday, Voight shared a viral video message on Twitter praising Trump and encouraging people to support his reelection in 2020. The president – who it must be said has a complicated history with Gold Star families – retweeted the post.

“My fellow Americans, I stand with you and the truth of our nation, with great pride and honor. I say this truly from a place of God’s truths. Our nation is stronger and wiser because we have taken a chance on a man who has become the greatest president. I’m honored to call him President Trump,” Voight said in the clip.

“And as we come closer to 2020, let us track all the magnificent documentations that have been signed, sealed and delivered to this country and its glory. We must continue this race of truths and stand with President Trump for his next win. Because this is more than win; this is not a sacrifice. This is God’s honor, God’s trust for this nation. For this land of liberty. For justice for all.”

“This is America, this land of the free,” he added. “This is our president, Donald Trump, that will set the nation to be the greatest land of peace and love — and great again. God bless.”

Jon Voight is a gold star Trump supporter

Tired of the usual liberal bias that has come to characterize Hollywood stars, conservative social media users cheered Voight’s gesture to Gold Star families.

One user ranked the actor in the top decile of “Hollywood elites.”

Another deemed him a rare “man’s man” in the entertainment industry.

In a less-partisan appeal, one commenter pointed out that support for Gold Star families shouldn’t be a culture wars issue.
