Joe Biden’s Latest Dictation to Private Businesses Sure Feels Fascistic – Opinion

As RedState reported some days ago, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has placed a stay on Joe Biden’s ridiculously dictatorial and likely unconstitutional vaccine mandate for private businesses. The White House isn’t slowing down, though. Vivek Murthy, the US surgeon general, left open the possibility of more mandates for the country, even though the existing one is still in legal uncertainty.

Today brought more defiance as well, with the Biden administration telling private companies they should ignore the implications of the court’s ruling and implement the vaccine mandates anyway. CNBC reports this.

The White House on Monday said businesses should move forward with President Joe Biden’s vaccine and testing requirements for private businesses, despite a federal appeals court ordering a temporary halt to the rules.

“People should not wait,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters during a briefing. “They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated.”

Many conservatives find it a problem that private business and government mix. Joe Biden seems to have almost eliminated the lines between these two entities. We’ve seen examples of that with the pushing of woke ideology at the federal level making its way into the corporate world, but the culmination of our new quasi-oligarchy has truly come in response to COVID-19.

The government had a monopoly on business openings, serving customers, and all other aspects of the operation for a good year. Biden is clearly not going to give up this kind of power. To some extent, he’s being enabled by major corporations that have taken the easy way out with cowardly compliance, believing the government can protect them while handicapping their competition via federal regulation. That’s the oligarchy part of this, but it goes further than that.

Fascism refers to an economic system that allows nearly all of the government’s powerful executives to dictate private company policy and pick winners and losers. Whether Biden’s approach checks every box to meet the definition, it’s certainly fair to call him fascistic in nature. His cosplay as a King, telling businesses how to proceed without concern for morality and legality seems to have made him a success.

As long as these businesses are open to listening, why should he quit? That’s really the lesson here. Biden is a terrible president, but he’s only able to do what he does because of a compliant corporate class that thinks they can position themselves as lords over the serfs.

More libertarian-minded individuals may brush that off as the cost of doing business in an ostensibly free market, but I personally think it’s extremely damaging to society. Tyranny is tyranny no matter how it’s packaged, and these mandates are a nonsensical encroachment on the basic liberties of individuals. End result: People must send a clear message to both the government and to corporations America.
