The wait for Joe Biden’s comments on transgenderism, children and other issues is now over. The president put out a video that was essentially a response to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law in which he implored parents to “affirm” their child’s “identity.”
The New York Post has some excerpts.
“To Everybody celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility, I want you to know that your president sees you — Jill, Kamala, Doug, our entire administration sees you — for who you are: made an image of God and deserving of dignity, respect and support,” Biden said in a video message name-checking the first lady, vice president and second gentleman.
Let’s stop right there. Yes, it’s true that transgender individuals are made in the image of God. It’s also true that everyoneGod created us in His image. That doesn’t legitimatize all human behavior and decision-making as Godly. I knew Joe Biden was a fair-weather Catholic, but you’d expect him to have a slightly deeper understanding of God’s will than “A person says something so that something must be holy and just.”
That’s the dumb part of the headline, after which Biden then got to the disturbing part. This is exactly what Biden had to say when addressing children and parents.
He continued, “To parents of transgender children, affirming your child’s identity is one of the most powerful things you can do to keep them safe and healthy. Any transgender American who’s struggling, please know you’re not alone.”
The president ended the video by saying, “You’re so brave. You belong and we have your back.”
This argument is extremely harmful to me. Children are not capable of making life-changing determinations about their “identity” because (and stick with me here) they are children. I find it absurd to suppose that a 10-year old could have the ability, forethought, or good judgement to choose another gender/sex than they really are. This kind of delusion could be considered child abuse in a more rational time. Now, the transitioning of children is not only a mainstream political idea, but it’s a booming business for doctors looking to make a buck off their radial viewpoints.
Let’s also talk about Biden’s assertion that “we have your back,” which operates as a wink and a nod for children to defy their parents. The government does not have children as wards. Rather, they have actual parents who are responsible for their safety, instilling values, and raising them up in ways that aren’t harmful. Joe Biden and my children are not theirs.
The explosion of “transgenderism” among the youngest generation is not an accident or a natural occurrence. It did not happen overnight that the biological and psychological realities of humans changed in comparison to previous generations. Instead, it was caused by a steady onslaught far-left feminist propaganda that aims to indoctrinate or convert children. Even worse, this movement is almost exclusively designed to support the illusions of adults who desire to affirm their worldview no matter what.
So no, parents shouldn’t just “affirm” a child who thinks they are different sex any more than they would if a child said they are a horse. Objective reality matters, but there are also extremely harmful aspects to allowing a child to pursue transgenderism, a transition they never would have even had a concept of if it weren’t for adults seeking their own affirmation. If a child goes on to become an adult and wishes to pursue such, that’s on them. As long as a child remains a child, they must be provided with the support they require, and not forced into irreversible, destructive behavior.
And let’s be real. Joe Biden is almost 80 years old. He doesn’t actually believe the stuff he’s saying. He’s just saying what he’s told. That makes it all the worse because not only is he promoting damaging behavior for children, but he’s too cowardly to speak against it.
