Joe Biden’s press conference yesterday has provided a bounty of topics to hit and that continues with a veiled threat he shared yesterday involving vaccinating children against COVID-19. That is what the president said in order for schools to remain open. It makes no sense.
I’ll explain what I mean shortly, but here’s the clip in question.

This is particularly frustrating for me as a parent of school-aged children. The schools in all parts of the country, particularly the South have been open since August 2020. The Zoom screens were not used to harm children. It was obvious that the screen was safe and allowed them to return to school. What do you think happened? There was nothing noteworthy. School’s functioned and children learned, proving that there was never a reason to shut down schools in the first place.
Meanwhile, people like Biden, including the big teachers’ unions, fought to keep them closed. They are now trying to threaten schools’ closing, but this is too late.
I’m not here for it, and no other parent should be either. The scientific evidence is not strong enough to force children to get the COVID-19 vaccinations. The flu is more dangerous to them than the coronavirus. Are we imposing flu shots on children? That would be insane. Yet, there’s nothing Biden likes more than exercising power he doesn’t actually have. For all the “moderate” talk while he ran for president, he has been exposed as just as an incredibly petty man with a god-complex to boot.
COVID is not likely to cause school closures. The virus is not a threat to children who do not have pre-existing health conditions. This is a gross use of children by the federal government. It’s also really selfish because none of this is actually about children. It’s about making power-hungry adults feel good about themselves. The vaccines are easily available, and they have been almost one year. Anybody who is in danger is invited to obtain the vaccine.
But for my part, I will not be giving my children a short-lived vaccine for a virus they aren’t at any significant risk from. I believe I’m far from the only one, as well, and I think this is going to represent a red-line moment for many people, including those who have been vaccinated themselves. It’s enough. You can’t leave the kids behind.
