Jen Psaki Perfectly Illustrates the Ineffective Idiocy of Joe Biden’s Foreign Policy – Opinion

Joe Biden’s presidency is not going well. I don’t think that’s exactly a controversial thing to state at this juncture. His latest approval numbers show that he received no perceivable State of the Union bounce, nor has he gained support based on his supposed world “leadership” involving Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The United States’ domestic woes are evident. Inflation is rising and cultural far-left antics are alienating more Americans every day.

The White House is now a mockery of itself in the face all these problems. It refuses to alter course and stubbornly signals its moral superiority despite the fact that it has so many problems. Jen Psaki illustrated this idiocy on Friday when she implored China’s government (currently supporting the Russians) to review its position in the history.

The background on this is that Biden recently levied a threat against China, saying there would be serious repercussions if the communist nation began to actively assist Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Xi Jinping already does this via agreements to buy Russian oil, wheat, and products. This allows Vladimir Putin to evade all sanctions. They are also reports of direct aid being offered, though it doesn’t appear to include military equipment.

As the reporter noted, Biden didn’t make any specific requests to China and he did not explain the implications if they refused. This was just another sad bit of saber-rattling that we witnessed a lot during the previous administration Biden held.

It was in response that Psaki recycled another Obama-era trope: The idea that dictatorial countries with self-interests care what “history” will say about them. The absolute ineffectiveness of such an approach to foreign policy could not be clearer given the world’s current results, and just days before chiding China, Psaki used the same line in an attempt to pressure India.

India responded to this by ignoring the United States. India reacted by pointing its finger at America and refusing to listen to a number of United Nations condemnations of Russia. It is also keen to increase its financial ties to Putin’s regime. Saudi Arabia and UAE, former strong US allies have been left isolated so that Biden can make another stupid JCPOA deal with Iran.

China is an example of a country that views its history in the terms of thousand-year dynasties. Its leadership doesn’t care what is written in Western history books about it. This will fade away within just a few decades. The White House is prone to ridicule for using such an approach, not only because it has bad ideas, but also because it is so foolish.

If it wasn’t obvious enough before the events of the last several months, it is obvious now that virtue signaling is not a substitution for smart foreign policy. Biden’s administration is so dependent on their own supplies that it refuses to recognize this and chooses repetition of meaningless slogans over effective action. Biden’s threats to China are not understood by anyone. Biden has placed the nation he leads in a precarious, dangerous position. No amount of history-based lecturing will fix this. There is no way you can finger-waggle your way to success.
