‘He’s Not Going to Be Able to Stop Himself’ – Opinion

The Trump followers waited anxiously for The Donald’s announcement. Would the Donald return to social media platforms from which he had once ruled over millions across the fruited plain, since it was clear that Elon Musk would win his bid to buy Twitter.

On Monday, as reported by RedState, Trump’s answer came during comments to Fox News: “I am not going back to Twitter.” Trump made the declaration, twice, while also weighing in on Musk’s acquisition of the mega social media platform that never saw a conservative tweet it couldn’t wait to censor.

I’m not leaving Twitter. Instead, I plan to continue following TRUTH. I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.

We’re taking in millions of people, and what we’re finding is that the response on TRUTH is much better than being on Twitter. Twitter is full of bots and false accounts. We do everything that we can to help.

Trump added, for emphasis: “The bottom line is, no, I am not going back to Twitter.”

It is now a question of whether Trump will keep his word. Will Trump keep his word?

The answer depends in large part, I suspect, on whether or not Truth Social survives — about which, the debate continues. But all things considered, including the future or lack thereof of Truth Social, if I had to bet, my money would be placed on “Of course, Trump will be back on Twitter at some point.”

“The View” co-host Greg Gutfeld said it best on Monday: “He’s not going to be able to stop himself.”

I think this is bad news for Truth Social because he’s not gonna be able to help himself. He’s gonna hop back on.

Gutfeld was co-hosted by Geraldo Rivera, an enigmatic host.

I’m a big Elon Musk fan, and I assume because he’s a genius that this is a good deal for him. Knowing him for so many years, I’ll think he’ll change his mind in 10 minutes.

Jeannine Pirro, also a longtime Trump friend, agreed: “He will.”

Dano Perino made it four: “That’s my dream.”

Here’s the thing: Pride aside, from a strategic position, why would Trump NotReturn to Twitter Fledgling competition? I suppose, but even in that case, Trump kicking out tweets, just like the “good old days,” would not only expose his thoughts to millions of people who otherwise wouldn’t see them (including TDS-riddled liberals), given there’s no way he isn’t running in 2024, but he could also pimp Truth Social, which would make a hell of a lot of sense, as well.

Again, other than pride, in my not so humble opinion, it would be foolish for Trump to continue to refuse to return to Twitter if the option becomes available — and of course, it will.

Besides, if we’ve learned anything about Donald Trump from the moment he and Melania rode down a Trump Tower escalator on June 16, 2015, to formally announce his presidential candidacy, it has been about his near-total inability to stop himself from doing pretty much anything,He was adamant in his retaliation against the most minor of antagonists.

That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. I wonder if Donald will stick with his story.
