Hero CBP Agent Rescued Dozens of Children From Uvalde School, Including His Own Daughter – Opinion

We reported previously about parents being handcuffed, pepper-sprayed and tackled while calling for police to enter the Uvalde shooting scene classroom to rescue their children. A Texas DPS Lieutenant reported that the police went in to rescue their children. This angered many people, who thought it meant that police had gone in to rescue their children and restraining others. We noticed that the Texas DPS Lieutenant did not mention whether other children were rescued by the police. Many were upset that the police did not immediately respond to the shooting, but waited and treated it more as a barricaded situation than an active shooter.

It’s important to note that while the killer was barricaded in one fourth-grade classroom, there were people getting kids out of other classrooms in other areas of the school. After Angeli Gomez was taken away by the police and placed in handcuffs, Angeli managed to convince other officers that she could be released. Then, she jumped the fence and rescued her kids — one in the second grade and one in the third grade.

Now there’s a new story out that may explain the story about the police rescuing their own kids. And while we’re hearing a lot of stories now that give us concern, this part sounds like a CBP officer who did what he could to get a lot of people out. The NY Post reports that Jacob Albarado (off-duty border patrol agent) received a text message from his wife, who is a school teacher. She said there was an active shooter, “Help” and “I love you.” He grabbed a shotgun from the barber he was getting a haircut from and sped off to the school.

Albarado’s daughter was in the second grade, locked in a bathroom while his wife was hiding with her students. The tactical team had already prepared to enter the school when he got there. He teamed up with fellow officers and made plans to get into the school. As he went into the school making his way toward his daughter’s class, he cleared all the classes in her wing, helping to rescue dozens of kids. While two officers were equipped with guns, the other two helped the teachers and children get to safety on the sidewalk. Jayla’s rescue was the first of many. He then continued to help other children. “I did what I was trained to do,” Albarado said.

“I’m so angry, saddened and grateful all at once. Only time will heal their pain and hopefully changes will be made at all schools in the U.S. and teachers will be trained & allowed to carry in order to protect themselves and students,” he wrote.

Those are important solutions to talk about that might have an effect, but they’re not ones that a lot of liberal media or Democrats want to talk about. Because if they aren’t armed — as Albarado thankfully was — they can’t protect themselves when faced with something like this.
