Although Dr. Anthony Fauci was once a prominent figure on almost every available media outlet, he seems to have vanished without a trace as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and Chief Medical Advisor of President.

He was seemingly last spotted a week ago, giving an interview to Reuters, which reported that Fauci says that it’s time to start “inching” back to normal.

On Wednesday, U.S. officials stated that they had prepared new COVID-19 guidance regarding many aspects of virus response in light of Omicron’s decline.

This announcement came after several other states, including New Jersey and California, Connecticut, Delaware, Delaware, Oregon, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Connecticut, Delaware, Oregon, and California announced that they would be lifting mandates on masks in schools and public spaces over the next few weeks.

Contradictory messaging regarding masks, vaccinations, mitigation, and other efforts to reduce the risk of infection, has all contributed to people losing faith in unapologetic authorities who are in charge of their health.

America has survived a brutal Omicron Wave (brutal in terms infection number, but not necessarily severity), and Democrats-led countries are now abandoning masking protocols. The polling on the government’s handling of COVID-19 is possibly even more brutal, and so the Democrats are jumping ship.

At the same time, what’s happening in Canada with the trucker protest, which is ostensibly about the virus and vaccines, has become more of a cultural war than anything. This fight is not only about the vaccines but also how much control a government has over its citizens.

You have also the Russia/Ukraine situation within Europe. This is completely distracting everyone and COVID-19 only gets 1% of the coverage that it got a week before. A full-scale international crisis has taken all the wind from the sails of the virus to the point where you almost have to remind yourself it’s out there. It may be waiting for an opportunity to rear its ugly head in the news cycle.

We’ve gone through a ton of news cycles since Fauci made his last major media appearances, and it seems that just about everyone in America has moved beyond COVID-19 and Fauci.
