Hall & Schumer & Sykes, Oh My! Trio of Woke Women to Host 2022 Oscars

Hollywood insiders are trying too hard to tell us how great This year’s hosts of the 94thAcademy Awards. Three women, who are also alleged comedians, have been chosen – Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall. Are these the Oscars’ best efforts in 2022? It was announced this morning Good Morning America.

Will Packer described the historic decision to pick a trio made by women as “history-making.” The ceremony will mark the first time that three women are hosting it. In 35 years, three hosts had never been used. It is probable that an all hands-on deck strategy has been put in place due to the low ratings of recent years. This trio is unlikely to bring about a rise in ratings.

“This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers.  It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles,” said Packer.  “I know the fun Regina, Amy and Wanda will be having will translate to our audience as well.  We have many surprises ahead!  Expect the unexpected!”

Amy Schumer asked if it was a good idea.

“I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea but I am hosting the Oscars, along with my good friend Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall,” Schumer said. “I better go watch some movies.”

Last year, the emphasis was on Black Lives Matter (BLM). The 2020 agenda will focus on the LGBTQ agenda, and animal rights. It seems that this year will be an honor for women. All the boxes are being checked with this year’s choices.

Regina Hall is perhaps the least-known. She is the first African-American to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress in 2018 for Please support the Girls.  Amy Schumer has been outspoken on gun control issues and is known for his political rants. She’s also famous for anti-Trump rants. This led to her performance being canceled by many. Wanda Sykes is a lesbian LGBTQ activist and once “joked” at the 2009 White House Press Correspondents’ dinner that she hoped late conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys failed. Ugh.

This line-up will bring back viewers. The Oscars will air on ABC from Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre on March 27.
