In the midst of day three of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearings to the Supreme Court, Daily Blast Live host and this week’s guest co-host of The View, Lindsey Granger provided the much-needed dose of reality and strong push back to the lunacy being spewed by co-host Sunny Hostin as she refused to talk about facts of Jackson’s time with Guantanamo Bay detainees. And co-host Sara Haines argued that discriminating against Justice Amy Coney Barrett “made sense.”
After co-host Whoopi Goldberg had erroneously claimed Justice Brett Kavanaugh had committed “sex crimes” and Hostin huffed about questions about Critical Race Theory, Granger spoke up when it came to Jackson’s record at Gitmo.
“I think, that said, even if she is perfect, we need to ask hardball, pressing questions. This is for the Supreme Court,” she said. “And I think with Guantanamo, they absolutely did.”
Referencing an earlier comment from Hostin about how Republicans were resorting to “political theater,” Granger argued that “even though you might think it’s theatrical, there’s real substance there.” And from there, she dropped the facts about detainees being released and “killed Americans.” “229 detainees have [been] released and reengaged in terrorist activities,” she noted.
The truth sent Hostin into a rage and sparks flew with co-host Sara Haines forced to step in to give Granger the floor again (click “expand”):
HOSTIN: They interrupted Ganger by misquoting her.
GANGER: She has worked –
[Crosstalk]
GANGER : It’s not my intention to quote misquotes. She is the one I would like to speak about.
HOSTIN – But we have to speak about misquotes since that was actually the line of questioning.
SARA HAINES Let her finish.
GRANGER: Sorry, but I’m not interested in the details of Guantanamo Bay.
“She has to get into that discussion about her work on Guantanamo Bay. We don’t want a Supreme Court justice that’s soft on terrorists,” Granger declared.
Adding: “I think we can all agree that even if a terrorist kills one American and then kills one more, that’s one too many. And so, we have to be tough at some point and understand where she stands because we should all agree that’s a simple concept.”
Granger went on to say the reason Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) left the room over Jackson’s Gitmo answers was that he was a “passionate” American who didn’t “want to see Americans die at the hands of terrorists twice.”
And while Hostin was huffing and accusing Republican senators of using “misinformation” against Jackson, that’s what she was doing. Hostin glossed over the fact Jackson represented Gitmo detainees in public defense, but she also served them in the private sector. And she didn’t call former President Bush and former Defense Secretary Rumsfeld “war criminals,” she did say they committed “war crimes” (and who commits those? These are called war criminals.).
Haines then added her opinion and declared it okay for Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who was being confirmed for her religion to target her.
According to her absurd logic, it It was “logical” that Democrats would discriminate against Barrett because of her religious beliefs “just because” the prolife movement “divides this country”. “[Barrett’s]Religion is an integral part of your whole life. It was beyond just she goes to church on Sunday, is she was on boards, she was on pro-life boards,” Haines said.

LINDSEY RANGER: I agree that even though she may be perfect, it is important to continue asking hardball and pressing questions. This information is intended for the Supreme Court.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Would have been nice if they had done that.
GRANGER It’s not a staged release, but there is substance. Guantanamo detainees were released and then killed by Americans. They’ve been on 220 — in some cases 229 detainees. [been]Released and engaged in terrorist activities again.
SUNNY HOTIN (interrupting Ganger: They misquoted her, and said that she
GANGER: She has worked –

GANGER : It’s not my intention to quote misquotes. She is the one I would like to speak about.
HOSTIN – But we have to speak about misquotes since that was actually the line of questioning.
SARAHAINES: Okay, she’s done. Let her finish.
GRANGER: Sorry, but I’m not interested in the details of Guantanamo Bay.
It is time for her to have that conversation about Guantanamo bay. We don’t need a Supreme Court justice too soft on terrorists.
We can all agree, I believe, that even though a terrorist kills an American then kills another one it is still too many. So, it is important to understand her position and be tough.
Graham’s departure, I believe, is a sign that Americans are so passionate about their country that they don’t mind seeing Americans suffer at the hands terrorists twice.
HOSTIN – He’s not as passionate! Okay? It was called histrionics. It was political theater. The problem with the questioning – and I agree with you – that the questioning certainly is valid, but you cannot start the questioning with misinformation, miscontextualized, and that’s what they did.
GRANGER: Right.
HOSTIN: She claimed that President Bush called her and she also called the Secretary of Defense war criminals. She did not. She said something else and claimed she chose to defend terrorists. She was a public protector. They do not pick the people that they defend.

HAINES: I’ll jump right in. When Lindsey Graham was referencing the religion, you can tell it was rhetorical and he was trolling because that’s what had happened to Amy Coney Barrett. It made more sense to ask Amy Coney Barrett about those matters because the pro-life side of pro-life is the biggest issue dividing the country. This is also a religious issue. It’s heavily and mostly based upon a religious belief. And you can’t separate that belief.
So, the fact that Amy Coney Barrett – justice, sorry – Justice Amy Coney Barrett is – her whole life a meshed in religion. She was not only a Sunday churchgoer, but she also served on pro-life boards.
When they asked her about religion Lindsey Graham hadn’t really said it, she replied that they were trolling Amy Coney Barrett. They are trolling her like they did Ketanji Brown. They are trying to portray her as something.
This is what I observed: They won’t vote for anything that was said at this hearing. They are going to vote along party lines. Although she will be through and deserves it, this campaign was not about running for the presidency.
