Next week will see Thanksgiving as a true American holiday. Network television must now denigrate the pilgrims for being evil colonizers that stole Native Americans’ land. This week on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, viewers were told that the colonizers didn’t even offer to share their Thanksgiving feast with the natives.
On Thursday’s episode of “Every Day Is a Holiday” (with you), Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), is unable travel to Seattle because the weather has cancelled her Minneapolis flight. While she is settling into her hotel room she makes a call to her family, to tell them she’ll miss Thanksgiving.
While she is FaceTiming with her sister-in-law, Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), Meredith’s preteen adopted daughter Zola joins in the conversation. Zola is a woke child and tells her mother that it’s ok that she is missing, Thanksgiving isn’t really a holiday, anyway.
Meredith, I look exactly like my mom. I’m in a hotel room, missing the holiday with my family, and I’m eating stale nuts for dinner.
Amelia: From what I’ve heard, Ellis Grey wouldn’t have made it home even if it were blue skies and sunny.
Meredith: No, you’re not helping.
Amelia: That’s because we’re fine. You can cook.
Meredith: This sounds very dangerous.
Zola: Hi, Mom.
Meredith: Hi, Zola. Sorry.
Zola: It’s okay. You did everything you could to get there. We shouldn’t celebrate Thanksgiving. There’s no actual evidence Native Americans were even invited to a feast. I think they cared more about being colonized and having their land stolen than mashed potatoes. I’m sorry you’re alone and eating peanuts, though. I love you!
Meredith – I love Zola.
Amelia: I love you.
It’s a popular theme with network television shows during the days leading up to Thanksgiving. It is to be shamed that the Pilgrims settled America. The colonizers were called cannibals and the day was labeled “Colonizer Christmas” by some MSNBC talking heads last year. Another ABC comedy in 2019 was “Happy Genocide Day”.
Liberals are ruining everything, and also ruining holiday memories for future generations. Meredith and Amelia nod their heads in agreement as Zola recites talking points that were likely learned at anti-racist, pro CRT schools. It’s obnoxious. It’s not common for Americans to be awake and consider every day a gift from God. Please pass the mashed potatoes.
