Liberal Twitter founder and ex-CEO Jack Dorsey has resigned. Conservatives however criticized Parag Agrawal, his replacement immediately after he resigned.
Agrawal is a notorious left-wing commentator who has made a number of offensive comments, including this tweet: “‘If they are not gonna make a distinction between muslims and extremists, then why should I distinguish between white people and racists.’” He was allegedly quotingThis segment is from The Daily Show. However, other tweets do not indicate any commitment to bipartisanship. Agrawal stated in an interview that “Our role is not to be bound by the First Amendment.”
Many freedom of speech supporters speculate that Dorsey was ousted from office by more radical left-wing workers, and that the replacement will not be as bad.
Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec warned that “Jack Dorsey leaving Twitter is bad, bad, bad for free speech,” and that “The wokes will be unleashed now.”
Filmmaker and commentator Daniel Bostic expressed wariness as well: “Not a Jack Dorsey fan, but this means censorship is about to get much worse at Twitter dot com.”
Autor and right-wing commentator Candace Owens agreed with Bostic’s observationWe warned them that this change could have disastrous consequences.
“This is the right take. I’ve been telling people for years. Jack Dorsey does not have to be your enemy. He is a prisoner at his own company.”
After its history of purging conservatives, it may seem difficult for conservatives imagine Twitter becoming more anti-free speech.
