As if things couldn’t get worse for CNN, a new report shows that even left-leaning viewers prefer Fox News, a conservative-leaning news outlet. It seems that CNN’s decision to go full Democratic Pravda over the past four years continues to backfire.

According to Per Nielsen MRI Fusion data, more Democrats watch Fox News at primetime than CNN.
According to the data, Fox News receives 29 percent more liberal prime-time viewers than CNN which attracts 25%.
Neilsen also noted that “[o]nly MSNBC, which is watched by 46 percent of liberal viewers during prime time, has a larger liberal audience at that time than Fox News.”
It is worth noting, however, that CNN still has more liberal viewers during the day than Fox News. The margin between CNN viewing and Fox News is small, at 29 percent for Democrats and 28 percent for Fox News.
Although Fox News is still more popular with conservatives than MSNBC, the important thing is its performance in comparison to CNN and MSNBC without independents. Both primetime and daytime hours are affected by this.
Lachlan Murphy, Fox Corp.’s CEO, spoke out about the report on a recent earnings call. He stated:
In a news monetization context, your share of audience, which is currently 55 percent of all cable news viewers, was impressive. It’s a lot of hard work to build that share and maintain it.
Murdoch continued:
The interesting thing about that share is also the audience’s breadth. Fox News has more independents than any other network. Nielsen reports that we have almost the same number of Democrats viewing Fox News than watching CNN.
The Hill pointed out that this “data comes after Fox News was found to be the most popular network for election coverage Tuesday.”
It is not surprising that Fox News has a higher percentage of conservatives than other networks. But the network’s performance among independents and Democrats is notable in that it shows Americans are largely not drawn to the type of far-leftist propaganda being perpetuated by activist media outlets like CNN and MSNBC.
While bias cannot be removed from news reporting, CNN has distorted their coverage even more to the left than MSNBC. CNN is particularly egregious as it, unlike MSNBC’s, still tries to trick its viewers into believing that they are objective.
It doesn’t appear anyone has been fooled. Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo are clearly giving their political opinions under the pretense of reporting objectively. It’s easy to see how these anchors care more about influencing than informing viewers. Oddly enough, while the network’s ratings remain in the toilet, they do not show any signs of adjusting its approach. Apparently, when you’re a true believer, activism is more important than profit.
