First Sunday on CNN Post Brian Stelter and They Don’t Seem to Miss Him at All – Opinion

RedState knows that many of its readers have been asking for Brian Stelter’s news throughout his strange journey at CNN. It is also clear that there has been a void in the hearts and minds of all those who have followed Stelter’s work since his resignation from CNN, the ex-global leader in news.

Of course, this includes our media watcher Brad SlagerWho has been feeling a little shaky since his dear gig as a host on Reliable Sources, where he bragged about the terrible state of Fox News at 11:00 AM every Sunday. Brad recently wrote this wonderful article about Stelter. Brian Stelter: The Most Indicting? His Exit Doesn’t Leave a VainTrust me. Brad does miss him.

If you don’t believe me here is a clip from Brad’s piece above…

That outright admission that CNN was a biased source of slanted news was the primary threat to Stelter’s future. His was the kind of myopic coverage one comes to expect from news outlets; to have him positioned as the network’s self-professed media guru only heightened the appearance of that bias.

One of Brian’s recent monologues had him impugning the character of some conservative news outlets by suggesting they were too focused with their news content – “Is it produced by reporters, or by repeaters?” Pithy, but also projection. Stelter finds it amusing to mock the focus of journalists, given his unhealthy obsession with Fox News. Boy Wonder Oliver Darcy his ward was also consumed by Fox news and its personalities.

This wasn’t an isolated example of blind hypocrisy. Chinese authorities forced the closure of Hong Kong’s Apple Daily newspaper last July after it was accused of being an opposition-threatening publication. Stelter reported on the incident and condemned it as an attack on journalistic integrity. While Stelter took the correct position, Boy Wonder Oliver Darcy and his ward were lobbying for conservative news outlets to be removed from satellite and cable providers’ channel lists. It was done in the interests of fighting misinformation and conserving democracy.

You can’t write that eloquently and call Oliver Darcy a ward of Mr. If there’s no love, Potato Head is not for you.

CNN decided that it would rerun a earlier show in its Sunday slot after the departure of Brian Stelter Reliable Sources. According to Washington Examiner

CNN aired a rerun in place of Brian Stelter’s show on the first Sunday since its cancellation.

Reliable sources was replaced at 11 AM by Inside Politics Sunday, with Abby Phillip as anchor. The original broadcast aired on the 8:05 a.m. hour. The Wrap had reported last week, that CNN doesn’t plan to replace Reliable Sources.

“There are a number of programs in the concept and development phases, and it’s possible media coverage will be an element of a show,” a network insider told the news outlet, “but no indication that an exclusively media beat show is part of the plan.”

Reliable Sources is a media-oriented news program, which was on CNN since 1993. Over the years it had many hosts, including Howard Kurtz and Bernard Kalb.

I can’t believe that CNN thought it was an equitable trade to do a rerun of Abby Phillip’s show instead of having Brian Stelter spittle on himself about how evil everyone at Fox News was. Actually, I can believe it but I don’t want to because watching Brian get himself all worked up and hyperventilate every Sunday was one of those few joys those of us in media treasured.

Take a look at me. moiLet the story be your guide.

As Stelter used too.

Brian is not a concern for those who are worried. According to rumours, he had three more years on his contract when he was let go. What that means is that yesterday Brian was able to sleep in his favorite “I Love Chris Cuomo” jammies and he got paid for doing so.

Only in America.
