Finding a Digital Niche of a Perfect Audience

Today’s world is not just defined but dominated by the social media platforms that everyone uses. Three billion people use Facebook, 90% of those aged 18-29 use social media, existing in a Western country and most countries at large makes social media unavoidable.

This, naturally, brings a slew of bright benefits and harsh downsides, but undeniably, people can capitalize on these platforms. Social media influencers have grown to world-wide star status, make ludicrous amounts of money, and all they have to do is post.

Unfortunately, “just posting” isn’t as easy as it sounds. Many people give up and pursue other paths before they see any sort of success, and many who do achieve some success find it to be unfulfilling. Luckily, there are some ways to avoid this.

There are three main phases to building a strong social media fan base that is both loyal and fulfilling. The first is building a foundation, the second is setting the tone of one’s content, and the third is all about regulation. These are general phases that are meant to help anyone move towards success.

In the first phase a content creator will find out what they wanna do, analyze what demographics they wanna reach, and build a wide foundation. This gives the creator the room and base to build on the second phase. In the second phase the creator should more critically analyze their audience. This allows the creator to tailor the messages they’re sending and the people they’re attracting.

It’s also important in the second phase to work on smaller things like the timing of uploads, taking control of the content and removing variables. Importantly though as everything starts to fall into place, there’s the third phase. The third phase is just keeping calm. As one’s audience grows both the criticism and support will follow suit, but the creator cannot let that control them.

Staying true to the initial vision, while still taking in criticism and advice in smaller chunks, will allow the creator to remain satisfied and successful. These three phases aren’t terribly complex, but at the end of the day neither is content creation. It, like most other industries, just takes a lot of hard work, commitment, and a little ingenuity.
