RedState reporter Brad Slager says that CNN’s Oliver Darcy has proven to be a horrible Fox News-buster. At 8 pm on Friday Darcy’s newsletter “Reliable Sources”, led the headline Fox has not aired “The Story Missing from Fox”Darcy insists on this:
Fox conspicuously ignores fight over 1/6 docs
Like I said, the top article on WaPo homepage right now is related to the fight over 1/6 documents sought after by the House committee investigating the insurrection. However, there are more. Fox NewsIt wasn’t a true story. I looked through transcripts around 5pm and did not find any mention of the right-wing talk networks covering this story. In fact, the only time I saw the issue come up on Fox’s air was when a reporter asked about it in the White House press briefing. Fox immediately removed the issue from its airwaves when it happened.
Common complaint of CNN about Fox News is that Fox News doesn’t care enough to share their obsession with the Capitol Hill Riot. CNN and MSNBC were unable to stop talking about it.
However, he committed a rookie media-critic error. It’s not enough to just say that something is “ignored”, that it was under-reported by the media. You need to get that right. Darcy did not realize it was mentioned hours prior to Darcy’s comment. Bret Baier: Special Report In the 6 pm hour
CNN will air its 8 pm newscast @oliverdarcyFox claimed that Trump tried to use executive privilege over House 1/6 Special Committee documents. It would be false. This is “Facts First.” pic.twitter.com/rKeTsRNKJV

BAIER: Peter. How did the White House respond to President Trump’s request to protect certain documents related to the episode of January 6th?
DOOCY: The officials here say no. They aren’t going to do that. This January 6th, committee up on Capitol Hill requested about 50 documents President Trump and his lawyers claimed that they were subject to executive privilege.
But officials here looked at it and they said no, those documents are not subject to executive privilege anymore. You are not the president so it is most likely that this will end up in court. Bret.
Darcy can kvetch the story. Not enoughIn his opinion, however “ignored” does not prove factual. Darcy searched for stories January 6, using the term “subpoena”. Johnny Dollar laughed at this on Twitter.
Your research isn’t worth 2 cents. Instant transcripts were inaccurate. You searched for the word subpoena. Here’s a 28-paragraph CNN report dated today on this story: it too has ZERO mentions of ‘subpoena’.https://t.co/eMIdciGgxj
Your lazy search for ‘subpoena’ proves nothing. pic.twitter.com/zd0SQ08sGl— johnny dollar (@johnnydollar01) October 9, 2021
A couple of hours after Darcy pushed “send” on his newsletter, Raymond Arroyo interviewed former congressman Bob Barr on The Ingraham AngleThe fight for executive privilege
