On Tuesday’s episode of The ReidOut on MSNBC, justice correspondent for The Nation Elie Mystal had a complete meltdown over the prospect that the Supreme Court will hand the decision to make abortion legal to the states.
Joy Reid showed a videomontage of previous Supreme Court nominees that Republican presidents had appointed and all said Roe V. Wade was settled or followed precedent. Reid turned to Mystal for his comments. “those were lies, right, Elie? And stare decisis isn’t real, right?”
Mystal then had a panic attack for all ages, in which he rants that “they’ve always been lying and frankly, if you’re the idiot who believed their lies all the way through, then you’re too stupid to be a United States Senator. They knew they were lying. They have been lying the entire time, but my question is simply to the Democrats now what are you prepared to do?”
He knew it was wrong, but he wanted to find out. “what did you think was gonna happen in 2004 when they replaced Sandra Day O’Connor, the deciding vote in Planned Parenthood v. Casey with Samuel Alito. What did you think was gonna happen when 52 percent of white women and 62 percent of white men couldn’t vote for the email lady and instead voted for Donald Trump?”
Moments later, the completely enraged leftist criticized Justice Alito’s reasoning for wanting to rule abortion not a right under the constitution because it’s simply not in the constitution, claiming “the founding fathers didn’t recognize abortion as a fundamental right because the founding fathers were racist misogynist jerk faces who didn’t believe that women had any rights at all!”
Mystal continued his mental breakdown and exhaled. “of course, they didn’t believe that women had rights to their own bodies. The founding fathers didn’t believe that marital rape was a thing!”
He ended his tirade with a hateful, vindictive outburst by giving the Americans an ultimatum. “Look, either you believe that the founding fathers in their infinite wrongness were overcome by the 14th Amendment which guarantees equal protection to all people in this country, or ya don’t”If you are a believer in the 14th Amendment “then Samuel Alito’s legal reasoning is laughable on its face and wrong.”
You can imagine being so angry about the need for more abortions. Mystal apparently isn’t aware that if the court does indeed overturn Roe v. Wade each state will make its own abortion laws.

Eastern, 7:36:49JOY REID: I mean, those were lies, right, Elie? Stare decisis doesn’t exist, is it?
ELIE MYSTAL: Yes, They’re lying, they’ve always been lying and frankly, if you’re the idiot who believed their lies all the way through, then you’re too stupid to be a United States Senator. They knew they were lying. Although they have been lying throughout, my question to Democrats is: What are you willing to do now? Their lies have been exposed. Now, let’s ask the Democrats: What did you expect to happen in 2004, when Sandra Day O’Connor was replaced by Samuel Alito, who became the final vote in Planned Parenthood. What did you think was gonna happen when 52 percent of white women and 62 percent of white men couldn’t vote for the email lady and instead voted for Donald Trump?
What’d you think was gonna happen when Mitch McConnell stole the Supreme Court seat? What’d you think was gonna happen when these people had a COVID party on top of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s grave? Did you believe they were celebrating anything? What did you think? That was the point! This is what they promised, and now this: What are you going to do? That’s the most important question of all!

MYSTAL – Alito’s basic legal argument is that abortion doesn’t count as a constitutional right since it didn’t exist at the beginning. That’s because founding fathers did not recognize it as a fundamental rights. Because the founder fathers weren’t racist, misogynist jerks who believed that women have no rights whatsoever, they didn’t consider abortion a fundamental right.
Of course they did not believe women were entitled to control their bodies. They didn’t think marital rape was an issue. According to Sam Alito it couldn’t have been a thing. Look, either you believe that the founding fathers in their infinite wrongness were overcome by the 14th Amendment which guarantees equal protection to all people in this country, or ya don’t, and if you don’t believe that the 14th Amendment should — guarantees women rights to their own reproductive system just like a man has a right to his own reproductive system, if you don’t believe, that then we are living in a situation where women have second class citizen status. Samuel Alito’s legal argument is absurd if you believe the 14th Amendment was successful.
