The highest-paid man in the US government, Dr. Anthony Fauci, was on TV again this weekend, doing a sit-down interview with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan. RedState already covered some absurdities, but saved the best stuff for Sunday.
Fauci raises January 6th in an extraordinary exchange and claims that science is being attacked because of his attacks. This man’s ego knows no bounds.
Brennan: “Cruz told the AG you should be prosecuted.”
Fauci: “Yeah. Fauci: “Yeah. Should I be tried? What happened on Jan. 6th, senator?”
Fauci has been openly pro-partisan. He also said, “If you’re attacking me, you’re really attacking science.”https://t.co/3ZkZdvdsLH

MARGARET BRENNAN : Senator Cruz advised the attorney general to bring you before a judge.
DR. FAUCI: Yeah. That is hilarious. Should I be tried? Senator, what happened Jan. 6, 2006?
MARGARET BRENNAN: Do you think that this is about making you a scapegoat to deflect–
DR. FAUCI : Yes, of course.
MARGARET BRENNAN: –From President Trump?
DR. FAUCI: That one is impossible to solve if you’re asleep.
MARGARET BreNNAN: This is a serious issue that many Republican senators are taking aim at. I mean–
DR. FAUCI: That’s OK, I’m just going to do my job and I’m going to be saving lives and they’re going to be lying.
Fauci lied clearly to Congress, claiming that the NIH hadn’t funded Gain-of-function research at Wuhan Institute of Virology. The documents that proved they had done it were eventually released, but the government attempted to alter definitions online to protect itself. Rand Paul proved right. According to my last check, lying in Congress is a crime. That’s why Ted Cruz suggested that Fauci should be prosecuted.
Fauci suggests that Ted Cruz be questioned about January 6, instead of defending his past lies. How does Cruz relate to January 6th? There is no answer. Cruz had no contact whatsoever with any of the Capitol Building intruders that day. He did nothing but condemn their acts.
Is the doctor unaware of how many people are being prosecuted for their actions on January 6th? Fauci makes a case for his own trial by using Cruz’s remark to make it seem like he is narkishing at Cruz. He is also proving to be the same far-left conspirator that some suspect.
That kind of idiotic response from Fauci completely gives away who he is (not that it’s been previously a secret). He is an apolitical man. There’s a reason he started attacking Donald Trump in the months leading up to the 2020 election. He was aware that he needed to maintain his place at the table and that Democrats were willing to help him do so.
But, it’s more than that. Fauci, himself, is a passionate liberal. The assertions of the last several years, where he’s been painted as some kind of unbiased public servant, were always nonsense.
Fauci claims that attacking Fauci amounts to attacking science, which is perhaps the absurdest thing he has said. He has been lying multiple times during the pandemic. Even past that, he’s been wrong more times than I can keep track of. But he insists that anyone questioning him is an attack against the institution itself of science. That’s a tyrannical notion that assumes he is simply above reproach and should never be held accountable. Any government official with that attitude deserves to be fired immediately, not lauded as an “expert.”
The legend of Fauci is still alive, at the least in the Democratic circles and the media. Fauci is an affront to the society as well as a taxing leech for taxpayers who continue to pay his salary. That he made it out of the Trump era without being fired will always be one of the former president’s biggest mistakes.
