Dr. Anthony Fauci tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday and is currently experiencing “mild symptoms,” the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said in a statement Wednesday.
Continued the statement:
He has had his vaccinations renewed twice and is currently fully immunized. He currently has mild symptoms.
Dr. Fauci plans to isolate himself and work remotely. President Biden and other high ranking government officials have not been in contact with him recently. When he is negative, Dr. Fauci will be following the COVID-19 guidelines and the medical advice of his doctor.
This 81-year old is President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor and director of the NIAID. He’s led the government agency since 1984, but came into the national spotlight for being part of the White House Coronavirus Task Force under the Trump administration. He continues to be an advocate for the Executive Branch’s coronavirus policies under Biden.
