Don’t Discount California—The Parents and Kids are Leading the Fight for Educational Freedom and Freedom from Mandates – Opinion

Since the winter 2020, California has seen a groundswell and this has only grown. While we may not have been able to remove Governor Gavin Newsom from office in 2021, the momentum created by the recall organization continues to grow. Hair Gel’s selfishness, shortsightedness, arrogance, and arrogance, along with the members of the elected state class, has fuelled this engine.

Jen Van Laar (Managing Editor) reported that El Dorado County has made the masking of their schools optional following massive protests within El Dorado Unified school District schools as well as in Elk Grove and Carmichael districts.

Students and parents protested against the school’s mask-mandates at several locations in Northern California on Tuesday.

Students at Oak Ridge High School, El Dorado Hills protested the use of masks in school.

“I think it should be optional,” freshman Jonas Merrill said. “It’s totally your choice. But I think if you don’t want one, you don’t have to wear one.”

Students suggested that there were other methods to protect yourself against COVID-19.

Yes, there are, and it’s time to stop punishing children so the school districts can collect those COVID bucks; because at this point, that is all this is about. If you host an event that attracts 70,000 people, many without masks and with major sponsors, it is clear to everyone you are serious about spreading COVID awareness.

Go. Sit. Down.

Placer County does the same. Roseville Joint Unified school District Board of Trustees proposed a resolution to make masks optional, despite them not complying with their insurance carrier. According to El Dorado County Press Release:

Roseville Joint Union High school District made masking mandatory. We are aware. Their liability insurance will not provide coverage for them against any damages or claims. This is because they took this action in violation of the California Department of Public Health. It also means that they could be sued.

But it’s not just the mask mandates that are at issue in the state, but the ability for children to receive a quality education, free from a woke agenda. Uber-Leftist San Francisco voters recall three members of the San Francisco School Board: Alison Collins and Gabriela Lopez. With over 70 percent of the votes tallied as “YES” on recall, it wasn’t even close.

Bye, Felicia!

The majority of San Franciscans who voted in Tuesday’s special election were in support of recalling three San Francisco school board members, with 79% voting to oust Alison Collins, 75% saying yes to recalling Gabriela López and 72% opting to remove Faauuga Moliga, according to tallies by the San Francisco Department of Elections.

In January 2021, parents of politically liberal cities launched a recall campaign outraged at the slow reopenings of their district schools. The board continued to pursue the renaming and elimination of competition admissions at Lowell High School.

“The city of San Francisco has risen up and said this is not acceptable to put our kids last,” said Siva Raj, a father of two who helped launch the recall effort. “Talk is not going to educate our children, it’s action. It’s not about symbolic action, it’s not about changing the name on a school, it is about helping kids inside the school building read and learn math.”

A-freakin’-MEN. California schools have a CRT-styled curriculum that promotes symbolism rather than substance. San Francisco is the city that carried this agenda to its zenith. In order to promote equity and create diversity, schools must be renamed. Zoom: Learning Loss Actual fundamentals? We don’t care! Johnny isn’t able to read and type, but he does know how to recognize his implicit biases. He knows how to protest, and boy is he good at it!

A puff piece LA MagazineCecily Myart Cruz (UTLA President) said the same thing.

“Our kids didn’t lose anything. It’s OK that our babies may not have learned all their times tables. They developed resilience. They were able to survive. They developed critical thinking and survival skills. They are able to distinguish between a riot or a protest. They are familiar with the meaning of these words Revolt  Coup.” She even went so far as to suggest darkly that “learning loss” is a fake crisis marketed by shadowy purveyors of clinical and classroom assessments.

Notice the language: “OUR kids,” “OUR babies,” the whole, “government is co-parent” nonsense. This San Francisco School Board recall was about parents saying, “not today, and not My child.” It was a precursor earthquake—4,5 to 5.0 on the Richter scale. This was sufficient to get your attention so that you are ready for the great one. It is clear that it has attracted the attention of Democrats as well as the Left. But I will repeat my point: the Left already tries to link these grassroots efforts with big money, right-wing donors and astroturf. It’s classic Marxism: accuse your opponent of what you are doing (and have done) in order to diminish and confuse.

It’s not going to work this time. What was the impact on Loudoun County in Virginia? It was a parent-led movement and their adversarial responses created an uprising that transformed the executive from the ground up. Californians have been signing petitions to put the Educational Freedom Act onto the ballot for 2022. Californians support educational choice and the bill would transfer funding for education away from schools to benefit the children. The fat Teachers Unions will oppose it. But, like MC Hammer singing: You Can’t Touch This.

Los Angeles County has refused to comply with the state’s indoor mask ban, even though it dropped it for schools. So, Los Angeles is taking a page from Assemblyman Kevin Kiley’s (R-Rock Star) playbook with this savage move. The plan is to remove their masks and leave them at the door of Barbara Ferrer (Los Angeles Department of Public Health Director)

The Secretary of California Department of Health, Dr. Mark Ghaly stated that he would reassess California’s school masks policy on February 28th. No matter what his decision is, Californian parents will protest his failure to grasp the importance of political science and patience.
