Don Lemon Throws a Hissy Fit, Demands Republicans Be Treated as ‘Danger to Society’ – Opinion

CNN’s new leadership announced that they want to stop the biased journalism that CNN has been known for over the years.

But it sounds like Don Lemon is throwing a bit of a fit over the concept of being an objective unbiased journalist — something he doesn’t exactly know how to be. He doesn’t think it’s right to be “fair” to Republicans, because he believes that Republicans are such a danger to society.

Hear his bizarre rant and witness the absurdity of it all.

“We sit around and we talk about these things and we want to give this false equivalence to Democrats and Republicans. It is not the current situation. Republicans have done something very harmful to society, and that must be acknowledged. We have to acknowledge that as Americans, we must acknowledge that as journalists because if we don’t, we are not doing our jobs,” Lemon declared.

“We cannot sit here and pretend like, well, Republicans it’s a — cut them a break. Let’s — we want to hear — they have a lot to answer for in this moment. We have a lot of questions about what has happened to the ex-president of the United States. And why do they let his antics continue for so many years. Why he is not accountable, why they go along with it and don’t say anything. They’ve got to answer for it. Why they are — whether you agree with abortion rights or not, why they have taken back a right that… was granted to American women for fifty years. They have to answer for those questions if they come here on CNN…They cannot expect to be coddled.”

Part of all this goes along with the Democratic attempt to discredit Republicans, in an Alinsky-like manner, in order to increase their chances at the midterms.

But another part of it, the very funny part, is this is a very public hissy fit on Lemon’s part at the CNN leadership who — shockingly — supposedly wants to go back to real journalism, to report objectively, and not just pitch the swill Lemon has been pitching for years. Lemon seems to be telling his bosses that you’re wrong, I’m right and Republicans — half of the country — are evil. Um, Don, not only is this nonsense, but if you want to wave a red flag telling your bosses that you are a failure at your job, keep right on going; you’re doing a bang-up job at proving that.

I would think Don’s new bosses are not going to like his rant, and one has to wonder if there’s a parting of the ways coming. That’s one way to improve the network right there.

The other side of this story is the absurdity of the claims. A few extremeists were involved in a three hour riot. Now, he is trying to attack the entire GOP.

Meanwhile, the Democrats have embraced all kinds of extremist things and seem to be doing everything they can to destabilize all the norms of the country — advocating for doing away with the electoral college, packing the Court, doing away with the filibuster so there is no minority opinion and they can control everything–not to mention encouraging efforts to intimidate Supreme Court justices. That isn’t random extremists — that’s the Democratic party, right there. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came to Portland’s defense when rioters were attacking the federal courtshouse. She called the federal agents responding to being attacked “storm troopers” for daring to grab rioters, when they saw them on the street and arrested them. Was there any concern over the attack against democracy?

Don Lemon himself has defended Antifa as “Anti-fascist” and downplayed the BLM/Antifa riots that lasted for months, cost many lives, businesses, homes and billions in damage, as nothing in comparison to the three-hour Jan. 6 riot. A “shoe can be replaced,” said Lemon, implying that the people who compared the riots were “not operating in reality.”

It wasn’t Republicans who killed 8-year-old Secoriea Turner, Don. None of the others who were killed. She’s not a shoe, nor are any of the other people killed during the BLM/Antifa riots. It is a moment that will stay with me forever. That’s what I think about when I think about “extremism.”
