There was much activity in the NBA today, as many teams signed new players or resigned role players. A few stars also signed max contracts. Kevin Durant’s request for a trade from Brooklyn was perhaps the greatest story in NBA.

Kevin Durant, a star forward, requested that Brooklyn trade him. Kyrie Irving might follow because the Nets look like they are in rebuild mode. At this point, Durant and/or Irving could be traded by the Phoenix Suns (and Boston Celtics), New Orleans Pelicans (and Toronto Raptors), Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks as well as Irving and Irving by the Los Angeles Lakers. Kevin Durant is one of the most sought-after players in the world. At least half of league members are interested.
The Dallas Mavericks are expected to “heavily pursue” Kyrie Irving, although Irving has made it clear that he wants to play with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Although the Lakers have an option to trade Irving and Durant for their players, it would likely result in them losing Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis as well as Talen Horton Tucker and Talen Hutton-Tucker, or future draft picks.
Kyrie Irving is the Lakers’ number one priority.
If Durant is traded to the Suns, Devin Booker would be Brooklyn Nets’ star guard. Deandre, the Suns’ center for the Nets, is not something they are interested in.
Malik Monk agreed to a $29 million, two-year contract with the Sacramento Kings. The Kings added a great role player to team up with guard De’Aaron Fox and power forward and center Domantas Sabonis.
Nikola Jokic extended his contract with the Denver Nuggets for a five year, worth $264 million. Jokic is one of the top players in the league and will be earning $52.8M annually. Jokic had 27.1 points last season on 58% shooting. He also averaged 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game. Jokic was last year’s Most Valuable Player.
Devin Booker, a 4-year, $214-million extension was signed by the Phoenix Suns. Booker’s consistency has been evident throughout his entire career. He averaged 23.5 points, 45.7 percent shooting, and 4.7 assists per game during seven seasons with the NBA. Booker will be looking to improve his game in the next season. Booker was also chosen as the NBA 2K23 cover athlete.
Bradley Beal has signed a $252 million five-year contract extension with Washington Wizards. Beal’s 2020-2021 season averaged 31.3 point on 48.5% shooting. Beal also had 4.7 rebound, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals, all in only 35.8 minutes. Beal’s production dropped last season, as he played in just 40 out of 82 games due to COVID and season-ending wrist surgery.
Ja Morant was signed a 5-year $193million extension with the Memphis Grizzlies. Morant scored 27.4 points last season on 49.5 percent shooting. He also averaged 7.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds.
Karl-Anthony Towns has signed a $424 million, four-year extension to his contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Towns’ last season averaged 24.6 point, 9.8 rebound, 3.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
P.J. Tucker has signed a 3-year, $33.2 Million deal with Philadelphia 76ers. Tucker will join James Harden, who he left behind with the Houston Rockets. Tucker is the glue person for teams. His grit is infectious and he protects each team’s best player, making it easier for offensive-minded players like Harden to play.
Anfernee Simons, a fourth-year, $100m deal was signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. Simons remains in Portland as the Blazers’ backup point guard to star Damian Lillard. Simons was a starting point guard in 35 of his games throughout his professional career. Simons’s games in those 35 games averaged 21.2 points and 5.3 assists per game. He also had 2.9 rebounds.
Bobby Portis signs a new four-year deal worth $49million with the Milwaukee Bucks. Portis’ last regular season was his most successful, scoring 14.6 points with 47.9 percent shooting and 9.1 rebounds. He also shot 39% from the three-point line.
Jalen Bunson, a point guard for the New York Knicks, signed a $104 million four-year contract. Brunson was a good choice for the Knicks as they were looking for a point guard. As the Knicks look to reach the post-season for the third time in three seasons, Brunson will be joining Immanuel Quickly and RJ Barrett.
Danuel House Jr. reached an agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers. Three-and D players are still being added by the Sixers. House Jr. was able to score 41.5 per cent from the three previous seasons.
Victor Oladipo signed a new one-year contract worth $11million with the Miami Heat. Oladipo was unable to play in the full regular season due to a rupture of his quad tendon. In the hope of a rebound season, Oladipo is being signed by The Heat.
Mo Bamba signed a $21 million, two-year deal with the Orlando Magic. Bamba was promoted to stretch five in the last season’s NBA playoffs. However, other teams expressed interest, but he chose to remain with Orlando.
Nicolas Batum has signed a $23 million, two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers to stay. With Kawhi Leonard returning to the Clippers and John Wall taking over the offense, Batum has become the Clippers’ glue man. The team decided it was important that they resign Batum.
Tyus Jones, a $30 million contract for a two year deal, has signed to stay in Memphis. Jones, who will serve as backup point guard to Ja Morant’s young star Ja Morant will also be utilized by the Grizzlies.
Isaiah Hertenstein, a New York Knicks player signed a $16 million two-year deal. Hertenstein did well in the Clippers’ game, however, Hertenstein couldn’t fully show off his skills due to Ivica Zurbac being the centre for most of the time. New York will offer him a better opportunity.
Joe Ingles signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks needed both a playmaker and a ball-handler after the number of injuries they sustained last season. Ingles offers both, and has the ability to play at a championship-level level.
Jevon Carter and Wesley Matthews signed new contracts with the Bucks. This means that the Bucks have resigned two key players. Wesley Matthews played a major role in the Bucks’ playoffs win when Khris Middleton, the forward, was injured.
Chris Boucher, a 35.25 million dollar deal for three years to stay in Toronto with Raptors signed. Boucher is expected to be an integral part of the Raptors’ playoff run in 2019.
Lugentz Dort has signed an $87.5 million, five-year deal to stay in Oklahoma City. The Thunder’s glue man is Dort. Dort was an excellent defender and formed a three point shot which made him reliable from both ends. Last season, Dort was 33.2 percent shooting from three.
Damian Jones has signed a 2-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Miami Heat “submitted” a trade offer for Donovan Mitchell.
Thaddeus’s deal with Toronto was a 2-year, $16 Million contract. Raptors look to maintain their core players of last season.
Danillo Gallinari will make the decision whether to sign for the Chicago Bulls or Boston Celtics.
Marvin Bagley, who signed a $37 million three-year deal with Detroit Pistons to stay in Detroit for the next three years, has been added.
Patty Mills signed a $14.5 million, two-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
Jae’Sean Tate signed a three-year, $22.1 million deal to remain in Houston with the Rockets.
Lonnie Walker was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Nicolas Claxton agreed to a 20 million dollar, two-year contract with the Nets in order to stay in Brooklyn.
James Harden, the Sixers and I will meet to talk about a possible deal.
Juan Toscano – Anderson has signed for the Lakers
According to Kristian Winfield, the Miami Heat are a more likely landing spot for Donovan Mitchell and have “furnished” a trade offer to the Utah Jazz.
Troy Brown Jr. was signed by the Lakers.
JaVale Mcgee has signed a $30.1 million three-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks got the center they wanted.
Amir Coffey, a Clippers player and entrepreneur signed a $31 Million deal for three years.
Juancho Hernangomez has been released by Utah Jazz Hernangomez is not the kind of player that leads teams to victory. However, Hernangomez will be signed by those who need him as a forward at a reduced salary.
Gary Harris has signed with the Orlando Magic for a 2-year, $26-million deal.
According to Carmichael Dave, the Washington Wizards are “the most engaged” for John Collins.
Kevin Knox agreed to a $6 million, two-year deal with the Detroit Pistons.
Kyle Anderson was signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Delon Wright has signed a $16 million, two-year deal with Washington Wizards.
Andre Drummond has signed a $6.6 million, two-year deal with Chicago Bulls.
Finally, Luol deng has been officially removed from the Lakers roster. Deng hasn’t played for the Lakers in 2017
