CNN’s ratings have fallen to lows not seen in years as the network has heavily covered House Democrats’ push to impeach President Donald Trump.
According to Nielsen Media Research data, CNN’s ratings among 25-54 year-olds, a key advertising demographic, were worse in the last week of November than they have been in five years. CNN also hit a three-year low with primetime viewers overall, coming in 18th place among the networks.
Fox News and MSNBC continued to dominate their cable news competitors. They averaged more than 2 million and 1.3 million viewers in prime time, holding down the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Fox News led all networks in daytime viewers.

CNN also continued to lose to the likes of Home and Garden TV, Lifetime Television and TLC.
While cable news has generally been in decline, conservative commenters have suggested that supposedly “Facts First” CNN is being particularly punished for its liberal bias.
Democrats move ahead with impeachment, CNN ratings be damned
Meanwhile, House Democrats are spending the weekend preparing articles of impeachment, as Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Thursday. Two to four articles are expected on presidential abuse of power, obstruction of justice and obstruction of Congress. An accompanying impeachment report could stretch to hundreds of pages.
Impeachment lawyers will appear in the House Judiciary Committee on Monday to present the evidence they have collected during the months-long inquiry of Trump’s Ukraine diplomacy. The committee will likely vote on the articles of impeachment by the end of the week, with the full House vote anticipated to take place just before Christmas.
Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and denounced the proceedings as an attempted partisan “coup.”
On Friday, the White House appeared to reject Democrats invitation to participate in the impeachment process, saying in a scathing letter that they have “wasted enough of America’s time with this charade.”
