CNN Host Goes on Racist Tweet-Storm Against Clarence Thomas – Opinion

CNN host Rex Chapman (allegedly) was a former addict to drugs. He launched into an anti-Justice Clarence Thomas tweetstorm on Thursday night.

Chapman, who had a show on the now-defunct CNN+ but is still listed as a “CNN host” on the liberal network’s website, attacked Thomas with a series of insinuations that he’s not really black, going so far as to use pictures of Thomas’ wife as some kind of slam.

Later, when one user responded by using a Dave Chappelle reference to say that Thomas is a “black white supremacist,” Chapman, responded with an on-target emoji, indicating he agreed with the critique.

According to Chapman who is also white, it seems that you have to do drugs in order to be truly black. You didn’t know that! Here’s a succinct rebuttal to that notion.

Ludicrous to think that Thomas may not be truly black due to his political ideologies is ridiculous. We are talking here about an African-American man, who was born during the South’s segregation, lived in extreme poverty and rose to become perhaps the greatest Supreme Court justice. Chapman would have you believe that’s not a story of black success, though. Why? Why is it that black people only accept Chapman’s will? This sounds a lot like racism.

I want to broaden things out here, though, because ultimately, this isn’t about Chapman and his clearly racist views. It is normal to expect that he will be a total, racist clown and have no way to manage himself. It’s no surprise that he spent 50 million dollars on drugs and was arrested for shoplifting. He’s an idiot and a sideshow.

What this is really about is a media complex that continues to elevate objectively terrible people simply because they have the right politics and are willing to say outrageous things to advance “the message.” We all remember Michael Avenatti’s rise to fame because he told CNN what they wanted to hear about Donald Trump. The liberal network did not stop to check him or think twice about whether they had put a fraud on the air. The orange man was bad, he shouted.

But that shouldn’t be enough. It is important that news organizations are held accountable to some standard. The original Chapman hiring was absurd long before Chapman decided to display his racist views. And to be sure, this wasn’t his first brushAs such. It’s not just CNN, either. Chapman was the anchor of its March Madness coverages by NCAA this year. Chapman was even featured in a NCAA press release, boasting about his accomplishments.

Chapman, in short, is an awful person. But those who enable him to be so are worse.
