Steve Krakauer, a former producer at CNN, criticized the biased nature of fact-checkers in his Monday newsletter. For example, “CNN’s Daniel Dale, who made a career out of fact-checking President Trump, hasn’t turned his sights onto President Biden in more than six weeks.”
Instead, Dale is fact-checking claims from Republican politicians who were trying to make a point about voter ID that you actually don’t need a photo ID to “buy milk” in D.C. Dale claimed that this is false. You don’t need a photo ID to enter D.C. “restaurants,” bars, food halls or food courts. You can’t go grocery shopping. It’s an “necessity” apparently.
In other words, Dale shows up at the scene of a complete liberal Democrat disconnect — no “Jim Crow 2.0” for requiring ID here — and tried to spin it away by saying “you’re exaggerating.”
Krakauer said that facts-checks are a common fetish among media professionals and their devoted followers on Twitter. These fact-checks do not serve their purpose and can make people distruster the media.
The dramatic turn is also evident in Daniel Dale’s TV appearances at CNN. There has not been a Biden check in Nexis since November 4th, the longest period of Nexis search. FIVE Daniel Dale segments could be found that explored the Jan 6th riot surrounding CNN’s favourite anniversary. Three of these pointed out that Ted Cruz had called it terrorist, which was a surprise to Tucker Carlson. Check out this January 8 appearance:
PHILMATTINGLY: Daniel blames Cruz’s inept wording. Cruz isn’t wrong to call the insurrection a terrorist attack, but this is not the first.
DANIEL DALE: You’re right, not even close. He made a sloppy statement that I researched. Actually, this was only the 18th (or at least 18th) time Senator Cruz described the capital Riot as a terrorist attack. He also described the rioters broadly as terrorists. Again, there were 17 other occasions where he had used that language.
Dale can get very loosey-goosy with facts when fact-checking Biden. Dale stated this on October 22 after the Biden “townhall” broadcast by CNN.
The Washington Post Today’s report said that the motorcade travelled along the border for approximately “a few” minutes. Is that the same as going to the border as Biden stated? The decision is up to you. The president might have clarified that, if this type of moment were what he was speaking about, that could have been communicated to American citizens.
PS. David Rutz, Fox News’ reporter on Daniel Dale’s odd lack of Biden checking is also covered by Fox News.
