CNN Brings on Worst Person They Could to Discuss Abortion Law Case Currently up Before SCOTUS – Opinion

This week, oral arguments will be held at the Supreme Court. They are dealing with the case closely watched by the Supreme Court. It concerns the 2018 pro-life bill that was passed by Mississippi’s state legislature. The law was signed by then-Gov. Phil Bryant that – with exceptions – banned abortions after 15 weeks but which did not go into effect due to legal challenges.

As Bonchie noted in his write-up, from the way things sound so far, it looks like a majority of the Justices are leaning in Mississippi’s favor. It would nuke the country if it was. Roe V. Wade, a situation which a panicked Democrat Senator Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.) recently threatened would lead to a “revolution.”

In any event, as per the norm, the political commentary on what’s currently unfolding is coming in fast and furious. But CNN made a rather odd decision to bring on their chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin to provide his hot takes on the lawsuit, for reasons I’ll explain in just a moment:

Toobin was brought on by Toobin to talk about the Mississippi case. Was it an unusual decision and frankly, very poor?

Back in the early 2000s, Toobin – who is married and has two children with his wife – had a long-running affair with a woman named Casey Greenfield. Toobin gave her the chance to get pregnant. She had the child but it later emerged that Toobin was so worried about her that he even offered to pay for Greenfield an abortion.

According to a source, when she refused, Toobin told her she shouldn’t expect any help from him. The New York Daily News reported the details about their affair, which was both on and off-again.

“Jeff and Casey saw each other off and on over the years,” says one source. “She was married to someone else for two years. She began seeing Jeff again after her divorce. He stated that he intended to divorce his wife. Casey began to doubt him by that time. She suspected he had several other mistresses.”

Greenfield underwent a risky DNA test while pregnant, but Toobin didn’t provide his sample and stopped talking to her, according to sources. Greenfield wrote Toobin inviting him to visit her son Rory the day after she gave birth. A source says Toobin didn’t reply.

Toobin ultimately cooperated with a DNA test that proved he was Rory’s dad. He was ordered by a Manhattan Family Court judge to provide child support in February. When he refused to pay the full amount, say sources, Greenfield’s lawyer threatened to notify his employers and garnish his wages; Toobin then paid up.

Doesn’t really sound like the kind of guy AnyoneAs it pertains to the discussion regarding abortion, any role should be taken up.

Those bad decisions include allowing Toobin back on air after the infamous 2020 incident involving him, um, taking matters into his own hands during an NY Magazine Zoom call, and including allowing “Prime Time” anchor Chris Cuomo to keep his spot after it was revealed earlier this year that he was acting in an advisory capacity for his brother Andrew Cuomo, who at the time was the Governor of New York and who was being hit with multiple sexual harassment allegations.

Though Andrew Cuomo resigned in back in August disgrace and Chris Cuomo was suspended indefinitely this week (but probably not for long) after new information showed he and the network lied about the depth of his role in advising his brother, Toobin is still doing his thing, which just goes to show that it doesn’t matter to CNN what you get caught doing as long as you bat for the “correct” team.
