City of Orlando Trashes America in Fourth of July Message, Later Does a 180 in Ridiculous ‘Apology’ – Opinion

The drill is well-known to all. Liberal news outlets, public schools, politicians, municipalities, and others all know the drill. A left-wing individual or entity says or does something that infuriates more people than said left-winger(s) believed would be the case, and subsequently releases a ridiculous apology, generally in direct conflict with the “transgression.” The below example is so upside-down oxymoronic; it’s laugh-out-loud hilarious.

Our story began on Friday, when the city of Orlando, Florida, said in a statement promoting its Fourth of July fireworks display that “a lot of people probably don’t want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can’t blame them,” as reported by Fox News. According to the city:

Why would anyone want to celebrate division and hate when there’s so much unrest?

Are you mind-numbingly stupid, intentionally divisive or disingenuously pandering for the radical left? (Go with “all three.”) The statement continued:

But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, Fourth of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you are standing in 90° heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends.

It is that instant when something changes and everyone becomes one. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what…we already bought the fireworks.

You’re so cute! What about the bad attempts at humor?

So who are these “a lot of people” who “don’t want to celebrate” America?

On the contrary, there are tens of millions of “a lot of people” who gratefully and graciously celebrate the Fourth of July in commemoration of the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. They also celebrate the U.S. Constitution, its liberties; its rights; its protections, and its establishment of an independent judiciary, at the top of which sits the U.S. Supreme Court — the “supreme” arbiter of the Constitution and constitutional law.

Obviously, the America-loathing leftist(s) who penned Orlando’s attack against “all of the above” disagrees. That said, the city was immediately taken to task over the statement, as noted by Fox, including by the Orlando Fraternal Order of Police, who called the city’s statement “in poor taste.”

We are not of the same opinion as Orlando. Their comments are insensitive and poor taste.

Of course, the statement was inflammatory — purposely so.

Lo and behold, as I suggested at the top, the city promptly “apologized” for its “mistake.” As I also suggested, the (pretend) apology was laugh-out-loud hilarious in contrast to the city’s first statement.

Orlando deeply regrets any negative effects our words may have on the community. Although we understand that some people found these words offensive, this was not our intent. We appreciate the freedoms in this country, and we are grateful to those who have fought for them. To show our appreciation for those who have sacrificed and continue to fight for freedom, we celebrate the Fourth of July.

Wait— wut?

Listen, I don’t want to “nitpick,” here, but everything in the bogus apology was mutually exclusive with the statement in which the City of Orlando suggested there is nothing “to celebrate [about] our nation right now” and how “we can’t blame them.”

Yup, after being forced by public opinion to pretend to apologize, the city “value(s) the freedoms we have in this country and [is] thankful to the men and women who fought and continue to fight” for America? And now, just like that, Orlando city officials “take pride in celebrating the Fourth of July”? You can find out more at “gratitude”?

What can I do to make this more tactful?

This is a total liar. They got called out for their blatant anti-Americanism, folded under pressure like a cheap suit, and issued an “apology” that they don’t believe any more than they believe Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is doing a hell of a job protecting Floridians from the likes of those who spewed the true sentimentsof Orlando officials apparent to be majority in the initial statement.

Incidentally, and not to be outdone, as RedState reported on Friday, the Pima County Democrat Party in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday posted on Twitter — then later deleted — a tweet promoting a “F*ck the 4th” event. The Tucson Women’s March “Let’s Mourn With F*ck the 4th” is apparently yet another protest in the aftermath of the Supreme Court overturn of Roe V. Wade

Quickly, the Republican Party of Arizona emerged responded:

Wow. This is an absolutely disgraceful rallying call. @azdemparty “F*ck the 4th.” The Democrats aren’t even trying to hide the fact they are the party of radicals anymore.

Correct. It’s not fair for them to try and hide this fact. Other than the fact that they’re going to get their asses handed to them in the November midterms, but the radical left remains clueless about their probable doom.

Predictably, as was the case with the city of Orlando, the Arizona Democrat Party then attempted to distance itself from the “F*ck the 4th” promotion by the Pima County Democrat Party.

Arizona Democratic Party disagrees with language being used to announce a Fourth of July celebration in Tucson. Both celebrations and criticism can have their place, according to us. This is the heart of American freedom.

They do, they are sure.

Fox 10 reported that the Arizona Democrat Party had tweeted the following as a response to the Roe overturn:

We stand with Arizonans in grief over the Supreme Court decision, loss of freedom and other political chaos.

I’m never sure which is worse: the blatant hypocrisy or lack of conviction in sticking with true sentiments.
