Chris Silent on Journalistic Malpractice in Helping Bro, Spews Hypocrisy

CNN allowed the following: Prime TimeChris Cuomo will host his Monday Night Show under the shadow of scandal and mistrust. What is the cause? Neue evidence released by the New York attorney general’s office exposed how intertwined Chris was with the executive office of his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as he faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. While he ignored these revelations, Chris was not afraid to criticize others for the same transgressions.

At the top of his show, where one would expect him to address the scandal, he ignored it and instead chose to wish a “Happy Hanukah to my Jewish brothers and sisters. Enjoy night two of the festival of lights.”

“And I hope Thanksgiving was a reminder for everybody of the good people and the good things in your life. Our Lord, we would all be grateful for your assistance.,” he added, possibly hinting at himself.

He then criticized the Biden government, saying that they need to be more transparent about releasing information on the Omicron version of Covid-19.

This is just for record. Let’s pray they maintain that energy. It will also be helped by President Obama and his emissaries who will let us know their knowledge when it is available. We shouldn’t keep repeating the pattern of having to discover things you didn’t know that we could have learned. Let’s be better.

Let’s do better indeed, Chris. How about you start by admitting to your viewers you lied to them about having a minor role in your brother’s defense?

According to text messages he sent to Andrew’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, Chris was using his journalistic sources and connections in the media to snoop on other media organizations to get a heads up about new accusations and dig up dirt on at least one accuser. And he directed her to “delete” the evidence of their communication.

But that didn’t stop him from preaching out how “A real epidemic of poisoned political politics is sweeping the country.” and “Extra caution is required” because “it is not just about accuracy it’s about the atmosphere.

Chris didn’t address the scandal at any point during his show. Don Lemon, who is a close friend of Chris and a CNN host himself, offered words of support to him during the handoff.

DON LEMON: It’s good to see you.

CUOMO: It’s good to see you brother.

LEMON: It was a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you. I missed you.  I am grateful for your friendship and you’re love. You are amazing, and one of my most kind friends on the planet. Here you go. Every word was meant.

Cuomo also noted that it was the first Thanksgiving in his family’s new house. Most likely the house Cuomo was building when he was stopped by a cyclist for violating his Covid Quarantine. He also lied about it.

Just minutes into Chris’s show, CNN media journalists and misconduct apologist Brian Stelter defended the decision to not disclose the truth to viewers. “For what it’s worth, when Chris Cuomo addressed his actions on the air back in August, he said ‘this will be my final word on it,’ and he hasn’t addressed the matter on TV since,” he tweeted like the good company man he is.

Brian! Do you have any other ideas? He stated this august in comments? “I’m not an advisor. I am a brother. It was not my responsibility to control anything. I was there to listen and offer my take and my advice to my brother was simple and consistent.”

In his so-called “Reliable Sources” Newsletter later that night, Stelter repeated that argument and tried to take the edge off of Cuomo’s lies to viewers and the misconduct (Click “expand”):

Chris had generally acknowledged and defended advising his brother – but the scope of how the anchor aimed to help his brother was More important than we thought. And he had a deeper involvement than anybody outside of him.

Monday’s document dump also included Chris Cuomo’s swear testimony to investigators. Cuomo acknowledged that he attempted to get more details about Ronan Farrow’s forthcoming story. The following is a defense of the convention:It’s completely normal for one reporter to call another in order to get information about the pipeline.

If something like this happened at Fox News, the entire network would be trying to get the person fired and they would be calling every advertiser to pressure them to drop not just the show but the network as well. The network would call it an attack against democracy and the Frist Amendment.

CNN has not responded to NewsBusters’ request for comment and to answer questions.

CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time
November 29th, 2021
Eastern at 9:01 p.m.

CHRIS CUOMO (All right. Chris Cuomo. Welcoming to primetime. To all my Jewish brothers and sister, happy Hanukah The festival of lights is back! Enjoy the second night. Thank you for reminding me of the goodness in my life. We could all use some help, I’m sure.

Here’s where I differ from most media. It was a good thing that the media were promoting this Covid Omicron variant. It is not news, but the information was. The timing. It’s the tone. The hype. The urgency is justifiable.

CUOMO – And just a brief note. Let’s pray they maintain that energy. It will also be helped by President Obama and his emissaries who will let us know their knowledge when it is available. We shouldn’t keep repeating the pattern of having to discover things you didn’t know that we could have learned. Let’s be better.

Based on facts, there is nothing to be alarmed about. Do we have cases? Maybe. They don’t even know. Canada has at least seventeen other cases. There’s no good reason to believe it wouldn’t come here. There is a possibility that it might be. It’s just not clear. Therefore, we don’t know what this means.

CUOMO: Why do we need to be more careful? It is not just about accuracy it’s about the atmosphere. There is a serious virus in poisoned politics. Today’s call was between two Congressmen who were at odds following one another’s comparison of the other with terrorists, because she is Muslim. The call quickly went sour.
