Chesa Boudin Has Been Recalled – Opinion

At first, the recall campaign for San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Bodin was considered impossible. San Francisco has not elected a new official since 1983. As crime, drugs abuse and homelessness continued, the soft-oncriminals policies of Boudin began to unravel, with more fallout. Even the progressives and champagne elite got fed up, and decided that it was now time to let Boudin go.

The organizers collected a large number of signatures, which were then verified and placed the recall on the primary ballot for June 7, 2022. Just over an hour had passed since the California elections closed. The results were finally called. It was the first significant indicator that California is changing.

San Franciscans overwhelmingly voted to recall Boudin. According to Fox News’ Bill MeluginThe initial vote was 61% YES for recall, 38% NO.

It couldn’t have happened to a nicer Soros D.A.

Starting at The Washington Examiner:

San Francisco’s far-left District Attorney Chesa Boudin was voted out of office on Tuesday after facing a recall petition over his criminal justice platform voters saw as soft on crime.

Numerous networks called for recall in favor of the race less than one hour after closing polls.

The recall effort against the Democratic district attorney became a bipartisan rallying call by Republicans eager to pounce against a public official whose progressive criminal justice reform policy created the image of lawlessness and danger in San Francisco. Meanwhile, local Democrats sought to contrast sharply their support for police reform with Boudin’s policies, widely seen as sympathetic to criminal suspects.

Always the “Republicans pounce” silliness. San Francisco is overwhelmingly progressive Democrat. The effort began with them. It seems that even publications of right-leaning bent fail to understand the space.

This recall is also a harbinger for the campaign to recall Boudin’s counterpart: Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón. The Recall Gascón organizers have gathered over half a million signatures thus far, and are on pace to gather the 566,857 verified signatures needed to get the recall on the November 2022 ballot.

Boudin’s entered his listening party at 9:25 p.m. Pacific Time, after the vote was called. Instead of introducing him, one of his staffers went on a rant about how the rich and powerful cannot run this city (good luck with that), that Boudin did what he said he’d do, and the fight for justice must continue. Boudin gave an interminable speech on two levels of justice and how everybody must fight for a better system. It’s as though Boudin and his supporters lives in an alternate reality. He doesn’t seem to feel any regret for overseeing the fall of once-great city. Boudin instead bumbled and blustered while doubling down on the failed policies. They don’t learn.
